  • Thanks, the frame looks okay too I guess

  • A fine frame and a wonderful ride

  • Thank you for your glowing review of myself

  • So I painted the fleegal bars, came out better than the frame has, im not all that happy with this paint, its very bizzarre to use, it seems to sit on the frame like powder but not actuallu addear to it all that well. Dont think i'd use it again. These have a slight coating of the spray.bike clear coat on them which seems to have evened things out a bit.

  • Then this happened to my other lever... they were both slightly too small i think they had been overtightened on different bars at some point as they were not round at the clamp so I had to try and stretch them out. This one stretched out a bit too far.

  • Didn't you have those levers on those exact bars?

  • Doesn't matter. If it's possible to break it, he'll break it.

  • Haha, come to think of it, yes! Anyway, Regardless, I've now fucked it on some hot shit.

  • Classic Palmer

  • Going to follow this for inspiration ;)

  • You may be sorely dissapointed! Haha.

  • Still in dire need of a 10 speed wheelset that will take around 38c tyres, ideally silver. Any ideas? Needs to be cheap too.

  • Do you mean ones with a 5 sprocket cassette on the rear wheel? I have some old steel wheels off of a 10 speed I am converting; they have been sitting on my patio for a long time and hence need a good clean up. They are old so probably imperial measurements (27"?). The rear wheel needs re dishing, and I can't vouch for the quality of the nipples etc. think they are old millard hubs. I'll look at home tonight and get back to you with less vague details!!

  • 1x10 as opposed to 2x5

  • Ahh I see - ok no worries then!

  • Finally sorted wheels for this which i shall collect tonight!

    Now for tyres!

35c I think will be the limit (eventually I think this will get guards so I want to save some of the clearance for that)

35c Gumwall suggestions that wont break the bank, pretty happy with my panaracers so far, any others worth looking at?

  • So, put in a few orders for stuff on the weekend (hopefully not forgetting anything)

Was hoping it would all arrive on time for the weekend!

however, all is not that simple of course:

. Tredz email me to tell me that the tyres I've ordered (that are in stock and "dispatch within 2-3 days") are now going to be dispatched in a week (with no explanation as to why, and no reply to me as of yet).

. Chain reaction Emailed to inform me that they do not have stock of the brake cable outers that were ordered (unfortunate, but they refunded instantly and gave me a £5 gift voucher)

. Went into Evans last night to try and collect my order of chainring bolts and a BB cable guide, a long wait for them to then tell me they didn't have the chainring bolts.

.Wiggle order however should be with me today, so far they are in the lead!

anyone know where I can buy Jagwire Titanium weave colour cables by the meter?

  • .

  • a long wait for them to then tell me they didn't have the chainring bolts

Literally the same thing happened to me with chainring bolts in the Evans East Dulwich branch last week!

  • Well, Tredz and eveyrone else somehow came through despite tredz offering little in the way of an appology they actually dispatched them on time, sadly i cant build the full thing but the wheels are looking good with the 35cs on.
