If James II had been a more credible Monarch, we would never had had this system of Government.

I was glad to read this. It puts the fact that I find Abbott a bit irritating sometimes into perspective.

Agreed, feel a bit guilty for dismissing her. I still feel she either should of read said report, or just not pretended to have read it. Is there really that much wrong in stating "I don't know the figures/report"?
-
• #2431
It doesn't work if the media just don't bother reporting anything you do though.

respect for her dropped after the private school argument , "A former cabinet minister said to me yesterday that she will never be taken seriously again when she attacks the government"

It's not true is it? For the following reasons;
Corbyn is credible because he is principled and consistant. He was not an effective Remain campaigner because he did not support it unquestionably. He's not a fan of the EU. Whilst that kind of honesty is unusual it's not a failure unless (as has become normal in politics) you only measure short-term outcome.
The Remain campaign was shit anyway. Almost nobody had their vote swayed by a Remainer political leader.
Corbyn's approval rating with the public was litterally lower than a random, unheard-of person you could drag off the street. He'd have convinced nobody. The campaign knew this and didn't want him around.

I don't dissmiss her for forgetting.
I dissmiss her for pretending to know, which she does often - so blatently it's fairly insulting.

Yes. I lost respect for her too. But it's only the bad things about our MPs that seem to make headline news.

Erm...
That's a bit harsh on the people of Cheshire who aren't rich Tory cunts. I spent my first 20 years there, and for the second half of that we had a Labour MP. He was a wanker, but still, it's a marginal seat now, and my dad (in Cheshire 33 years) has been out door knocking, so you never know.

yeah, that's the thing I found-as soon as she'd walked into the trap she just adopted a really slow, patronising tone whilst saying as little as possible which just looks arrogant and pathetic in equal measure.
It's not far off what May does to be fair, but hers is at least scripted and delivered with that psychotic deliberateness that lets you know she never had any intention of giving a straight answer.

Apologies, I was stereotyping a fair bit. Just saw a huge amount of Tory campaign posters around Wilmslow, Knutsford and Poynton when I was out last night. Guess as it's a marginal they will be campaigning fairly hard in the area.

I only saw Tory posters along the A51 Kidsgrove -> Holmes Chapel last week.

Certainly it's not a vote winner if the perception is you're blagging it.

Some graphs to ponder
if , when this is all done and dusted, the youth vote turns out in formidable numbers, will the corbyn naysayers concede he has the credibility you accuse him of lacking?
