"Labour left reeling after bruiser May puts Corbyn on the ropes in TV debate"
tomorrows news today.

It really didn't go well for the tories, I thought Lucas was pretty good and Farron didn't seem too bad until he got all bogged down with pulling heartstrings with his personal NHS and Manchester links. I like how Nutella seemed most Tory like then went on a rant about Muslims and Hamas.

And that tune at the end, bangin'.

Glad I'm not watching this live... how the fuck may can say she represents the countrys wishes yet not be bothered to turn up to this debate is beyond me... I want to see her clobbered in the press in the morning but we all know that won't happen #murdochmuch?

Lucas was clear winner. Angus from the SNP was quite good as well. Corbyn fine. Farron going for the laughs worked at times.

I'd never heard of Angus before tonight - was really impressed with him I have to say.
What's interesting (to me) is that Sturgeon sending Angus looked like a confident boss putting a key member of her team forward to gain experience etc, whereas May sending Rudd looked like she was scared and hiding.

It was a risk. She's an Amber gambler.

Prime Angus.

Apparently Rudd's father died on Monday, yet May still wouldn't attend.
Rudd has the dubious honour of being the only senior Tory who isn't completely toxic to the general public.

She's learned from Cameron never to exploit personal bereavement for political advantage.

Looks like the Tories will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
From a nearly impossible to lose election a few months ago with Brexit and Corbyn vagueness, bad opposition and huge media bias against him to losing seats.
Good. But I sometimes wonder... they want to lose? :)

As much as it's fun to watch the Tories struggle, they'll still probably win a majority.
-
• #1592
I think The Sun genuinely think that story just reflects well on Rudd...
-
• #1593
The only hope I can bear to entertain is that the majority will be small enough to humiliate May. But I still don't think it will be.

I'm hoping the same as you, Will. Either way, May is toast. She's proven to be an electoral liability rather than an asset and the Tories don't keep them around for long.
-
• #1596
Yep unfortunately true, but their expected and possible massive majority now looks less likely :)
I'm hoping the dup, the party of Tory bootlickers, gets booted out in Belfast too. Won't help NI much but will still be a pleasure :)

She'll be back on the one show tomorrow telling people she's a chilled-out entertainer.

Would a labour/lib dem/snp coalition be possible if tactical voting in some tight constituencies actually go in their favour?
-
• #1600
That depends 100% on Labour.
All other parties have acted progressively in various parts of the country, including standing down candidates to support others and campaigning for each other.
Labour is an exception. They've actually been incredibly tribal and have expelled people who have been members of the Labour party for decades for having acted progressively.
In some areas Labour have even expelled their candidates.
It's pretty incredible, but the biggest blocker to a coalition (should the Tories fail to have a majority with them plus DUP) is Labour.
She's such an embarrassment. It was really the best option to not have her there.
