Next doorโs garden a couple of weeks ago, very rarely used apart from by the resident foxes; I lifted a fence panel and buried this one where it had fallen. The smell alerted me, and I didnโt fancy a plague of flies. Poor old fox, even though they dig everything up etc I much prefer them alive than dead.

Thats a respectful thing to do. Well done. They are feral pests, but I love them and respect what they do. Used to get one coming in the garden quite often. Its a real privilege for sure. It even stuck its head through the dog flap to have a sniff. My staffy (avatar pic) was a right timid thing and proper shat herself!

4 fox cubs and the dad careening round the garden this morning, i thought there were only 3 having seen them together a few months ago, but then only 2 for the last month, thought one had succumbed to natural selection, now 4, thats a nice surprise
my flower beds have been decimated over the last month, hey ho.... and they're right in amongst the 6 tomatoes i planted yesterday too .... doh !

Our cats have always co-existed with the resident fox population without any issue.
This year, one of the foxes has chased Nico a couple of times.
So far, no harm done but it's making me a bit nervous about the cats being in the garden early mornings or evenings. Anyone else noticed this behaviour?

Zooming in with a mobile phone in the dark obviously isn't great but this is one of two local foxes. Neither look fully grown yet although this is the bigger of the two.
Saw one the other day trying to get into a wheelie bin. It could lift the lid partway up but then it kept dropping shut when he let go to try and get at the contents.

Neat.

One of them was sat on the wall plotting with the cat yesterday.
They keep digging up my bulbs in one particular patch so I've moved them now and they've left them alone.

..haha!
Nice pictures by the way!
I'm always amazed that they come rght into the gardens where you are.
We also have quite a few foxes here in Berlin but they do keep more distance. -

Not strictly urban, but may be of interest if you've not seen it.
Amateur photographer builds trusting relationship with fox. Some nice pics. -

Nice pics. The other day i was treating my dog for not going nuts at a fox and it just kept coming closer with a "where's mine?" look on it's face. Really don't think it would take much to have the foxes round here eating out of your hand.
TLDR, should of got fox instead of a dog.
Wow thats so cool. Your BiL is very lucky!
