  • They sound great, exactly how it should be done. Which also highly rate.

In the 45minutes and counting I’ve been on hold I’ve emailed various Virgin managers who’ve posted their email addresses online. You never know, one of them might be competent.

  • Virgin customer service is fucking terrible but in most places they're the only place offering fast broadband.

I found complaining on the forums got you far better customer service than phoning up some fuckwit.

Also bear in mind you get compensation for every day late on the installation and each appointment missed with less than 24 hours notice. I ended up pretty much getting the first three months free.

  • +1 for Zen

I've dealt with them for years, from basic home ADSL to gigabit fibre leased lines, all serviced to the same high standard with excellent comms.

I have reluctantly Virgin at home as there's no FTTC where I live and I can't deal with ADSL2 speeds. They are cataclysmically shit to deal with and expensive, but fortunately not congested in my area.

  • Thanks for the forum advice, I’ve added a post there too.

I’ve got the first month free but I’ll be asking for more. The cheeky shits made out they were being awfully generous, as I’d already received couple of quid off the monthly price when I signed up, for being a loyal customer.

  • These two email addresses might help

    socialteam@virginmedia.co.uk

    executiveteam@virginmedia.co.uk

Shit customer service but annoyingly great wifi

  • Perfect, thank you! Emailed them too

  • This is the basic compensation scheme https://www.virginmedia.com/help/automatic-compensation and then whatever you can get on top.

I ended up being referred to the executive team complaints. They were shit too

  • cheap product, good product, good support

    pick two of 3?

  • I’ve emailed various Virgin managers who’ve posted their email addresses online. You never know, one of them might be competent.

I admire your enduring and refreshing optimism. Kudos.

  • pick two of 3?

Two if you're lucky. One if you're not. None if your luck's really out.

  • I've definitely been one of the lucky ones with Virgin. Had BB and TV from them for 20 years (including ntl) with very few issues.

Probably shouldn't tempt fate, I've been getting some mildly annoying picture breakup on the telly lately so may be about to find out how terrible their CS actually is.

  • Unfortunately in my postcode the only fast option is Virgin so I don’t have the luxury of your choices

  • Shit customer service but annoyingly great wifi

    +1

  • No experience of the T Mobile one, but a while back a startup in our office used one of those 4g Internet boxes - whatever the one that's popular in London is.

In a built up area in the City they had no problems with up to 4 users (as in the most number of users they would have rather than its capacity).

  • Virgin customer service is fucking terrible

Really? I've never had any problems with them. In fact, one of my most memorable calls was with a Scottish dude who was fascinated by Oz and told me about the Big Lez Show.

Are you talking about customer service or the installers, which are probably totally different company.

  • Virgin broadband just cancelled my installation for the 15th time!!

Sounds much like flights during Covid.

Is broadband install cancellation more or less aggie than wedding cancellation?
    Personally, broadband >>> wedding

  • Agreed. Lack of the former will torpedo the other anyway.

  • You do wonder who was calling which helpline there. :)

  • He had insta-crush on my sexy accent. Not the first time...

  • Cheers, will do a bit of digging.

  • Really? I've never had any problems with them

Virgin Internet has literally the lowest customer service rating of any UK based company that Which? monitors. At least they did about a year ago. They really, really, suck.

  • Virgin customer service and sales is so bad, someone arrived to install broadband at my flat, that I didn’t order, on a property that has no access to a virgin connection anyway.

  • Customer service. You spend 45 minutes on hold for a foreign call centre where they can do nothing other than what the computer says.

  • Complaints to Ofcom, ie. people who are seriously fucked off, not just morons that don't know the difference between a power button and a pairing button...

I don't know why I'm sticking up for them. I've just found them pretty good when I've had to deal with them. There was one time we had 3 callouts in 3 weeks or something because someone kept fucking with the phone lines but that's hard to blame on them.

I don't have access to see this:
