I worked with a person with mental health issues, kinda 2 for the price of one kinda vibe.
Some days you would get normal Shane, some days evil Shane.
We had to babysit our employers son who was more fucked up than Shane. While working at a punters house, i was round the back, Shane appeared, manic, almost crying, manic Shane was not uncommon.
(shane) you gotta see, it's.....
(me) what ?
(shane) it's....... he is almost crying and can barely speak, arms waving, totally manic.
(me) what ?
(shane) starts pushing me to the gate........ "you won't belive me, you must see"....I get ushered around the front of the very large and expensive property by manic Shane.
In broad daylight, in the front garden in a very posh part of town i am presented with our employers son sitting on a tree stump like a garden gnome that's fishing.
He's not fishing.
His trousers are round his ankles and he is curling one out onto the front lawn, surrounded by overlooking propertys next to the main road.Shane is beside himself and now crying with laughter, "why haven't we got a camera" the potential to blackmail the bosses son is on his mind.
The bosses son shouts out "anyone got any bog roll"
Broad daylight and the dirty fucker got away with it. -

I bought the forks brand new.
It took me ages to find a full carbon one with a 1-1/8 steerer, a 30mm rake and a brake hole.
I ended up buying them for £35 new + £30 postage then got import+VAT when they reached the UK so that was nearly £90 in total, so I could have bought Alpina forks for that money.
These were the forks:

When I say reputation I mean about future sales/buys that will now be non-existent.
If that's the only reason you're here, >>>>>>>>>>>>>
If you want to make an actual contribution then do so.
Some more people will probably call you a cunt when they get back to the office on monday morning and start looking at what's happened on the forum over the weekend instead of doing their work but by Tuesday or Wednesday you'll be old news.
Tbh, it'd likely be old news already if you hadn't pissed the bed and come up with the shite excuses.

Hey @JBradnam,
In all seriousness, I'd encourage you to apologise and move on. You've discovered that this forum isn't a car boot sale where you shout out low offers and then try to make a profit with bullshit salesmanship and sneaky manoeuvring. You can make money here, but it would require some amount of industry and/or expertise (i.e. fabrication of a new product).
More importantly, you can save money and time here. People will go out of their way to help you, give you stuff for free, tell you what to buy or not buy, and provide other valuable advice (not just about bikes). Ideally, as member of the forum you would participate similarly. You might even want to go out on a bike ride with some of these people one day.
So either use the fork or sell it for what you bought it. Keep using the forum, people will forget about this quickly. After several days of London cycle commuting, you'll be so far down the 'Asshole List' in people's minds, no one will remember you.
Anyway, I'm sorry for my part in pointing this thread in the direction of name calling and derision. The angry mob shit is unpleasant. Beyond that, I wouldn't expect an apology.
I think you've experienced the worst the forum has to offer, I hope it swings around for you.
p.s. Don't post your own bike in the Bike Porn thread.

@JBradnam, why don't you bring the fork down to the 10th anniversary party on Saturday? We could auction it off with all profit going to the forum. A chance to own some genuine popcorn.
You might also make friends and have some fun.

The flip side of all this.
Over the weekend another forumenger has found a fatal flaw in his old frame.
One member tried to coax the frame size discretly as has a large one knocking about.
Another member has guessed the size and come in with a better fitting frame offer.
That's the community at work, it helps those it thinks need it and stuff for free is passed around. -

This thread in three Dril tweets
I like the edit in the first post "probably £150 new" what happened to "I think it's worth £100 bearing in mind new it was £150+ new."
Just out of interest @jbradham why did you lock the thread after the first few responses?
For the record I bought these from @Vince last year for the same as I had them listed, far more than you paid. They have been unused by Vince and subsequently me. So no not "probably £150 new" I think they cost around £50 from china but the import duty whacks the price right up which was reflected in the price I paid vince last year. https://www.lfgss.com/comments/13423091/
