I pushed the Oak as far as I can, and my riding is difference than 5 years ago.
The CinM now felt amazing, it’s stiffer, felt smoother, livier.
It just right.

Soon, already felt awesome to ride, it’s a lots stiffer than I expected.
Geometry just right, felt a little high, but suitable for 12+ hours on the saddle.

Everything work, even the 6 speed cassette with 9 speed chain, never felt anything smoother than that.
Brakes a bit squealy when a bit damp, but otherwise great.

Chain is fine actually, the issues is the 16t jump of the front chainset, because of the 46t ring, I never go on the 28t sprocket (except in that photo on my parent’s 25% driveway).

Its nice scoble but the rear brake cable stop is still at the wrong location, it might work fine etc. but if I pay top custom biek dollar I wouldnt be able to live with that.

Bike is rad, well done, you sure onow how to build a classy ride Ed. Since you've had a bike fit, made up your mind about sticking to that saddle and gotten your position dialed in isn't it possible to drill a hole through the seattube and post and have the brake cable pass through there? It would run almost parallel to the seattube yet not obstruct the rear light, look loads better and act as an e-brake when/if your seatpost slips which would be the main reason for doing so. Joking aside you could drill out two anti diametrical parallelograms in the seatpost instead of just a hole, with a height of a couple of cm's alowing you to readjust the seatpost height in the future if you needed to. The width would be that of the hole drilled in the seattube of course. I think that could work, no?

Really elegant and with the lower Hellenic stays would work with the cantilevers on the normal side of the stays.(I commented with this pic on the Pron thread - didn't realise it was Ed's bike).

The light wouldn’t be in the way if the brake bosses were on the inside of the seat stay as in the photo you posted.
But I doubt it bothers Ed enough for all of those changes now. -

Yeah. I was deep in the hypothetical.
Ed's has internal TT brake routing so that would have been decided at the early design stage.
Bike is beautiful, and when I saw it on Pron it immediately made we think of Routens (hadn't yet seen the crown etc) which has got to be good.Herse chainset it lush.
