That's lovely, and not at all excessive compared to the cost of a similar UK builder - how easy were they to deal with?

No problem. Alessandro speaks very good English.
A few years ago, I bought a Gios from well Gios, and it was a very similar experience. Long established family business, father a legendary frame builder, son an engineer keeping the dream alive.
The Grandis factory / workshop is a much bigger operation than I was expecting, but to be honest their glory days are well behind them, and it's not going to be around for ever, so if you're thinking about it I'd get a move on.
As an added bonus, it's a lovely part of the world.

Wow, so a custom build frame for region of off the peg Cinelli Super Corsa frame set.
And an exciting pick up too :)
Can't wait to see the build up. The attention to detail on the frame is marvelous.

Last weekend, the good people at Rad Bikes fitted a Headset to my Grandis.
Today, for the first time in ages I have some free time, so I can start building the frame up.
I am excite!

When are your panto'd parts arriving?
-
• #57
Probably next year.
I picked up a Record Group in 'as new' condition for not much money, so I am going to put that on the Grandis.
I've got a polished and panto'd Potenza group that is going on another build. If I get on with the Grandis (and I'm sure I will) I'll order another modified group for it.
In associated news, I have a new shed!

The upside of today's inclement weather is that I have had the opportunity to work on some projects that have been 'pending' for some time.
I reckon I'll have this done by tonight, which is great news because, according to the BBC, tomorrow 'Ill fait beau'.

So nice!

Very nice, but imo those brake levers are not worthy of such a frame.

Bars / Levers are temporary.
Am in process of setting up with Record 10v levers.

Got this finished, and went for a short ride today. Very happy with the outcome:

Love love love this, you have the best bikes!

Look great!
How come you didn't colour coordinate the cranks?
Maybe a black Campagnolo Record Titanium chainset with silve rings? -
• #65
Uneven finish on the bar tape / finishing tape is letting the side down a bit ;)
Beautiful build by the way :) -

The brake cable exit at the seat tube cluster has to be one of the most elegant I've ever seen, great build!

Second photo taken round the back of the Laban building?
This looks fantastic, hows the ride?

@Vince: Groupset is what I had in the parts bin, sorry to disappoint.
@Downhillsquirrel: I can't tape bars for shit.
@andyp: No, random location in Canary Wharf. Love the ride, much stiffer than normal steel frames.
1.8k Euro's.
Brexit, and the subsequent exchange rate didn't help, but then this is a genuine Made in Italy frame, unlike a lot of the 'Italian' carbon people pay stupid money for that's made in China or Taiwan.
