  • I'll bring it to you for some Danish level headed leveling.

  • New forks, and front hub replaced with a DT Swiss 350, better pix to follow.

  • Nice Scooter Boss

  • DT Swiss 230

  • Ha, well spotted! Corrected now.

  • Really pleased with how well the new forks match, they looks perfect. They're also much stiffer too!

  • Currently with WTB Nano

Need to get a DT Swiss 350 straightpull rear to match the front next.

In the mean time 650b rims for £7 was too cheap to say no, so I'm building a monster cross/all road wheelset on the cheap.

Thinking of getting this painted something like RAL 7046

  • I would get matching hubs so you dont have to fuck about with your brakes every time you change wheels

  • Do you mean matching rotors? I had already planned to get some XT ones as they've been excellent on my genesis

If not I don't have the money for a second set of 350's for a wheel set I'll only use as a secondary pair. Those Novatec hubs were were half the price of the rear 350 costs on trade!

  • He means matching hubs. Different hubs will put the rotor in a slightly different position, so each time you change the wheel, you have to faff around to get the rotor centred again.

Added: it's a 2 minute job most of the time, it's just not something you'd want to do in the middle of a race. If you were that way inclined.

  • What andyp said. Even similar rotors wont help. If hydraulics then itll be quick but I wouldnt bother if using cabled/spyres

  • I'm using hydraulic so no issue

  • I'd be interested to see if those rims arrive with eyelets. They don't appear to have them in the Planet X pics but from what I can tell they should have them.

  • They're not, this is my third pair. I wouldn't worry though, they're excellent.

  • Cool. Thanks. Just got to wait for my frame to arrive to check clearances.

  • Just got hydraulic rival shifters (thanks again @Jon. ) So I may as well paint the frame and forks at the same time. Annoyingly the hubs have arrived but they're in my work so I won't be able to get them till I'm back probably.

  • Off to paint, this colour

  • Rear wheel now rebuilt to a DT swiss 350 straight pull. Quite a weight saving from the old hub...

Alas I haven't heard anything from the painter.

  • Nice base coat

  • Is it built yet? Pics please.

  • Not built, forks are still drying on my radiator.
@Hulsroy can you imagine painting a cx a pale colour like that? mad
