I suspect science folk are far too rational.

This is my point. There obviously won't be because normal folk don't need to justify themselves with internet grief.

Just had a look at the lists of celeb deaths from previous years, and actually last year and 2014 saw way more influential and important people passing than this year, with a lot less hysteria.

I think it's combined with the other batshit wtfigo factors of 2016 that has made people go a bit loopy.

Have we missed the point here? Or can't I read..

Every Emotion is selfish we get upset, mourn and feel but these just stem from reflections of our selves. What we've lost, how old we are, what we haven't achieved. What we could have said.

The reason most people fixate on celebrities and not the millions of innocent people killed in war/famine/genocide is because it's easier to to relate to people who remind us of good things, things we aspire to, then we forget and carry on.

What we should be doing instead is taking the most of life and loving each other.

This reminds me of the time I IRL trolled Andrew Ridgely... Me and my mates were walking down Earlham Street after a night out, we were heading back to my mate's folks' place as they were out of town... Someone you absolutely felt understood you and now they're dead and you look back at your past life and feel a little nostalgic and then look at your current life and think, this is not my beautiful wife.
