  • Crap! Take it easy and heal fast boss.

  • Hope your healing up Velocio, strange place to take you with Guys only having a minor injuries Dept didn't they know where St, Thomas Hospital was?, anyhow get well soon..

  • Sorry to hear this - let me know if there is anything you need doing. Anything.

I've cycled down Stamford St so many times...

  • Best of luck.

  • Velocio
Have PM'ed you with some hints on patient transport.
It will be a long and tiresome night.

Good luck :) the Nurses are ace

(i don't do mobile online things so won't be able to look into this again until Friday night, will have a peek in the morning before work see how it's going)

  • Oh god. Hope you're OK - shout if you need anything.

  • Heal up man.

  • all the best wishes, hope you heal up soon

  • I got the hospital wrong, I'm in St Thomas.

Nothing broken. X-rays have been done, and I'm all clear. Such a relief.

Will be cleaned up and set free. My right leg is colourful right now, apparently will get worse.

No one is home so I need to take care of myself, clean wound, redo the dressing, etc. Advice, take it easy for the weekend.

Will figure out how to contact police tomorrow, they haven't turned up.

I'll get a colleague to lock my bike in the office.

  • Biggest fear... What if my phone dies before I leave!

The entire right side of me hurts. Maybe I will take the drugs.

  • Scary stuff bossman, glad to hear you've escaped with your life even if by the sounds of things you're seriously banged up.

Try to put the driver and police out of your head until you've at least got the cast on-there'll be plenty of CCTV and you've already a witness to corroborate.

    Obligatory H(eal)TFU

  • Take plenty of pictures dude......they speak a thousand words, and even if you think you won't need them now, you never know.......

    And heal up fast!

  • All the best matey.
There, by the grace of a god etc etc.

  • How's the bike?

  • I think the bike is OK. It didn't look smashed to smithereens when I left it.

I straightened the hood and lever, the front bars, but didn't get a chance to look at anything else. It's carbon though and I went down hard, so I need to get it checked.

Carbon can take some knocks easily and not show them, but can also have major failures and not really show those either... will get it checked before I ride it again. It would break my heart if it's ruined, I love that bike.

Clothes ruined though. Assos bibs, Rapha shorts, Rapha Jersey. Nurses removed them because of how tight they were and how bad the blood and swelling was. It was messy enough that the clothes had to go so they could get a good look and start to clean things up.

That's a good £500 gone. Oh well, in still in one piece so I should be thankful.

Just angry really. That driver did it on purpose, knew he did it, then drove off and left me there bleeding and at the mercy of any other traffic. I'm very angry really, trying to remain calm right now, but I can feel the anger. No driver should be on the road with behaviour like that.

  • Terrible. Heal up quickly. Hope they catch the driver.

  • Heal up quickly.

Also pretty local, and no pressing work on tomorrow if you need a hand with anything

  • Heal well and fast, dude!
Expect the police to do NOTHING.
I really wish I could advise you to look after #1 and forget the police but bruises fade, evidence is 'lost', people forget and CCTV footage gets erased.
If you can find a friend to do your chasing, do this but the cynic in me thinks your best chance of justice is to HOUND the cops and document all your attempts. Get your bike checked professionally.
    Heal well!

  • I'm free!

In a Uber home, patient transport has delays and my work are wonderful and covering the Uber home.

I've been warned I'm going to be very stiff and will go pretty colours. Dressing stuff will be fine though, once blood was cleaned it didn't look half as bad as before. Road rash on lower right leg, and lots of open cuts and minor lacerations causing the knee to weep and bleed. It will heal up.

Will be home just after 1am.

Too late to order pizza though

  • have they warned you about compartment syndrome?

just be mindful of what levels of pain you have and how bad the swelling gets

  • They've warned me about that and to look for tattooing, and what colours I should expect and how it should roughly feel.

  • cool, it is a very slim chance that you have it, but it did nearly kill me.

i didn't get much tattooing, just a continual swelling to the point where the blood could no longer flow and the nerves and muscles rotted away. the pain was off the fucking chart, but i became so numb to the pain i was not able to articulate how bad it was.

if possible take tomorrow off to rest up.

  • My work is cool. I'll try a gentle walk, Laps of Kew, to avoid stiffening up to much.

  • frozen peas help !

  • still in the bag , natch!
