That looks more like an integrated bar and stem than a thinned out stem.

Was going to post in bike porn, figured this thread was more appropriate! Madone 9.0 - wasn’t keen on the graphics on the DT so stencilled the logo and cut out black reflective tape, so during the day it’s stealthy and when light hits it, it lights up white.
