Vulpine went into administration and has just been bought out, so things may be a bit up in the air there...

Anyone know any physical shops in London that sell cycling jeans? Plenty jeans out there online but id like to be able to try some on first.

Rapha? Levi's?

Condor stock Swrve (jeans and also shorts).

Just picked up 3 pairs of newly repaired jeans from the Regent Str. Levis shop - 5 quid per pair, they've all been rescued pretty successfully from their "crotchless" state.
The repairs are somewhat industrial, but definitely cheaper than new jeans - and now double reinforced, much like the old commuters.

Are the darned like nudie jeans repairs or patched up?
-

Both: paired denim that they have darned over. Not obvious in the outside, reinforced on the inside.

re jeans repair, do you mind showing some pics? I have 2 pairs out and 1 on its way, £5 seems a bargain. Shop down the road does it for tenner each, it's 100% more...
I suppose they only do Levi's own jeans?

Yea it's only their own jeans.
Attached photos of the most obvious repair job (easier to see what they did in the picture). It's a pretty industrial job, but not noticeable when you're wearing them. Had to really light them and then use flash to get a picture that showed it.

Cheers, it's better than my DIY... Gonna visit them this week. :-)

Just came back from a Levi's store and they don't do £5 a pop for jeans repair anymore, now it's from £5 and all my cyclist's jeans would cost like £35 becasuse of the obviously large area... so it's not really worth it. What they did tell me though is that I could trade them in and get like 20% off for some new jeans. So might go for that.
FYI for another thinking of getting their Levi's jeans repaired on the cheap...

Anyone got any idea what became of Levis Commuter cycling jeans? Best bike jeans I’ve ever owned and they’re finally becoming more ventilation than denim. I’d replace like for like at the drop of a hat but they’ve vanished by the looks of things.

I think they may have discontinued them. Perhaps they were too good a product. :)
Get Swrve instead? Much more hard-wearing.

I like swrve but not the knees. (That cycling cut looks a bit weird off the bike I think). I might try some resolute bays and get the Levi’s super stitched... it’s a bummer about the Levis though. They were damn good. I liked the easy fit and stretch. Lightweight and not too warm either.

I've got a new pair for sale - in a striking electric blue:

yours for £20

They don’t do them anymore. When they offered to trade in my old ones I asked. Can’t remember the reason.

I recently got some Spoke chinos to fill this hole. Lots of nice cycling specific things like a zippy pocket inside the right side pocket but they don't have a re-enforced gusset do not sure how long they'll last to saddle wear

I decided against a pair of resolute bays because they only have one belt loop for the whole back and only 5 altogether, which I always find makes the belt cut into my back or sides between the loops. I'd have bought a pair otherwise. I went with a pair of swrves.

2nd dibs? If you'd post?

Surely there's someone in the golf thread that has a tailor who runs up bespoke, sustainable, locally sourced authentic vintage Italian/Japanese denim cycling kit?

I thought the original commuter jeans were pretty good. As you say: stretchy fabric and reinforced arse was worth the extra tenner to me (was the fabric sanforized too?).
The second gen dropped the good bits and only retained the d-lock loop (lol) and the commuter branding which was a lazy/cynical (money-saving) move from Levis.
Whats wrong with the vulpines?
They're on sale at the moment so was thinking of checking them out.
