RUSTY - Harry Quinn, Haggard, Carbon, Beater

Since you guys are loving/hating my other build I thought I'd post my pride and joy; Rusty.

I rescued a Harry Quinn frame off ebay. A lovely, hand-built track frame with Campagnolo stays. Sounds good right? Well a non-matching fork, brushed on paint finish and it being bent all out of whack says otherwise.

The hub spacing of this bike should have been 110mm (was my educated guess). It wasn't:

Turns out the whole right hand rear stay was bent in. This maybe happened in the post or maybe it was sat on. A trip to the local bike shop who cold set it to 120mm to take a modern wheel. Huge win.

Shout out to Pi Squared Bicycles.

Collected on PINK-E and left outside while I did a food shop.

Hopefully I've not offended anyone in this project yet. Next is paint. I'll put my flame suit on...

You might be able to see in the photos (2nd to last image) that whoever stripped it before actually sanded the lugs down a bit. Its a bit of a shame but I had suspected this. It's fun to see some brass though .

This could be a belter.

My Quinn has sat primed for almost a year now... I'll get to it soon.

Ok it's been a while. Some progress to report. I'll sit back, let the pictures do the talking and watch the fireworks:

P.S. Yes that is the final finish. Its lacquered.

I quite like it you know, be nice to see how it ages. Are those chromed fork ends?
