    This could be a belter.

    My Quinn has sat primed for almost a year now... I'll get to it soon.

    Have you got a clear serial number?

    Picked up this frame some weeks back for a very reasonable price. Based purely on the fact it had what looked like a legit serial number stamped on the BB and matched on the branded chrome forks, I coughed up the moola and it came home with me.

    Serial number suggests mid to late 70's but of course Harry Quinns are far from easy to determine and I have found no hard proof of this.

    It's curently had a couple of coats of primer and I'm yet to make a final decision on colour, although I have a few in mind.

    The reason for this post is because it's history and age were always in question, now even more so since I removed the paint to find some 'old style' Harry logos almost eroded into the steel. You can see quite clearly in the photos, the more I scrubbed and scraped, the more obvious the appeared! I know Harry liked to clear coat over logos so I can only assume 30+years of British sunshine has played its part.

    When I purchased the bike it had some unflattering white block stickers on the down tube bearing Harry's name and the same on the head tube. A previous owner had also done a terrible job of painting parts of the frame that just fell off when attacked with nitro morse!

    So, I was hoping for advice regarding decal choice. Ebay stumps up 2 options;
    The first is a slimmer font with 1 crest for the head tube and a pair of verticle and horizontal Harry Quinns for the down and seat tubes.
    The 2nd is much bolder and features a pair of crests for seat tube and head tube.

    The issue I'm having is that neither match the style hidden beneath the paintwork, which I really dig! Frustrating!

    So any thoughts or ideas, or in fact information would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait to get this Harry back on the road!
