It looks fantastic, are you running your tyres tubeless? Also re silver chainring, why no oven cleaner it?

Don't be anal. It looks great as it is. It is exactly polishing and caring too much that makes bikes suck. Leave it and don't listen to Snoopy

Silver would have looked better (subjectively) but I hear black chainrings on silver arms are all over Radavist so good enough for me. I used to be that guy who'd spray/strip it but can't be bothered these days. Looks alright.

Great choice of color on the bartape..

Good to hear. At least summat on my cross check project will make it rad worthy. Are dirt drops and camo bartape still on trend, or am I just gonna be a bit retro?

+1 for black rings on silver cranks..
Also, one of the prettiest bikes on here IMHO. -

The whole build is lovely! Two winters and poor maintenance on my part have got mine looking a bit tired. Considering a strip and repaint/rebuild and a darker colour with some nice bar tape is very appealing now.

@spotter Sorry missed your question - nope not tubeless just yet. Looks like lots of benefits but still a bit unsure. If I get a spout of punctures sure I'll look into it with more motivation. Thanks very much sir.
@tyeness Thank you, and thanks for building yours also. Do post an updated photo in your thread would be very interested to see.

Silver cranks/black chainring
Silver hubs/black rims
Silver guards/black frame
Silver stem/black bars
Silver Seatpost/black saddleIt all works well together, if anything I think a silver chainring would look out of place (unless you had black cranks)
Even the mech continues the theme.

@TM obviously this was all well researched. It feels foolish even saying this but think I'm out of the game now for a while. Moved quite a few bikes/parts around to fund the Moser and this, which should scratch every kind of itch I'll have between them, and the Brompton of course. Nice to think I've ended up with 3 steel steeds which should hopefully now get a decent crack of the whip.

Don't say that!

Only just seen this but it's super lovely!

Cheers. Looking forward to getting out at the weekend if only briefly. Haven't really owned a practical/functional bike before and thinking I'm going to enjoy this.

Can we have a 'prettiest bike of the month' award on this here forum? I vote this.

Which chainring bolts are those?

@Chak thanks very much, I remember seeing something similar on Retrobike which I thought was a good idea, but pos that was over a whole year. Been suggested a few times here I'm sure.
@alialias very kind, surprised such an unassuming frame scrubbed up so well myself. Covering the decals certainly helped I think.
@Pish I had them in the bottom of my parts bin, so can't quite remember sorry. Pos VeloSolo ones from back in the day?
@hma no I totally get what you mean, there isn't really a 'transition' it's all very functional and not very flowy. I don't mind this look too much although by the time this one wears out there might be a few more well priced options.
@josh @tyeness by my standards I kind of fudged the right side but it'll do for now. Thanks a lot, been a few years since riding with cotton tape and feels good to be back.
