Interesting to see the incident in that series of photos. Seems pretty clear after that. Sagan went left, Cav went right, both trying to get Demare's wheel, and they collided. DQ's obviously bollocks, whatever. If you look at Sagan's knees in that last photo (right knee close by the top tube, left knee stuck right out) he's obviously trying to stay on the bike rather than trying to shove Cav.

Gonna miss today's stage to spend time with the better half. One eye on the ticker. Any better text feeds than cyclingspews?

Definitely a big day for him - lots to prove.
Would like to see Meintjes have a crack at it, but think Porte is likely victor.

See? My system is infallible. ;)
I've been a month without arguing on the internet though, could you maybe change your opinion on this one so we can have a mud slinging match?

Yup.
And Cav was a little behind Sagan when Sagan started his move onto the wheel. To Sagan it probably looked like there was a good space.

so why does Cav mention 'the elbow' in all post stage interviews?
-
• #709
At the risk of prolonging the prolonged post-Sagan-DQ analysis even further, isn't it a bit odd that the race jury announce one punishment, then go away and have a think about it, and then come back with another one? Surely the jury shouldn't reach a decision until it has all the facts and has considered the matter fully in the first place?

@danstuff seconded. after DiData protest...

Cos he wasn't watching the slo mo replay on tv
-

Because, as he said at the time, he wanted to know why Sagan had stuck his elbow out. Cav was very careful not to accuse Sagan of deliberately elbowing him, and given that it's Cav we're talking about, I think that speaks volumes.

And as for interrogation, nah I can't be bothered.

• #716
the post stage interviews... saw 2 or 3 last night. Quote like:
'I get on fine with Peter, shit happens, but what abut the elbow, I don't understand'
-
• #717
Think this is more because he was being asked about it rather than bringing it up himself. He said he won't blame him and he wants to have a chat with Sagan later and get both sides.
I think thats pretty admirable, he's being fair. -

Anyway, hills
-

Hills indeed. La Planche des Belles Filles. Quite a climb. Did it in August 2014. The next day I vomited all over myself while driving along the A14 late at night. That's how hard it is.

He claims to be a pro rider. Is he? He claims to have seen it. Did he? Try interrogating your "journalists" more.
