Landa is the one I feel for this year. They guy is on some awesome form. His final stint yesterday was mind blowing, seeing him grind it out while everyone behind was weaving and bobbing all over the place.
He rode a hard giro, went down hard, got up, still got a stage and was out in crazy hard breakaways most of the third week. Look at the difference between him and Nario. How is he holding this form? He must be a good bet for next year's giro. Just needs to keep it the right side up for three weeks. -

Yesterday was the first time he really had to work at the Tour. Sky are very good at rotating their domestiques, so they aren't overly reliant on one person.
I meant to add, riding for GC is different than going for stage wins, mentally there is much less pressure, so with Landa he is probably mentally fresher than, say, Quintana.

Yes. Quite.
I'm often reminded of the, I think John cooper Clarke, classic " wit and repartee". I mean I could critique you sub par Gonzo efforts, but it's just quicker to say:
"Fuck off you red nosed cunt" -

Perhaps they're still reaping the benefits of a few years spending (2010 onwards?) where it was much bigger than the rest of the teams?
Other teams boosting spending to equivalent levels won't immediately catch them up.

No one with any climbing caliber has had to do any work for the last four days so everyone should have been relatively fresh. Did he not do any pulling on the stage to Chambery. I thought it was a similar team effort with Landa the second sky rider over the line at the end. Must have dropped Froome off close to the top of the climb.

On the Chambery stage I think Nieve, who has also been impressive, did most of the work on the climb. Landa only did a short turn before the attacks started, if memory serves.

Anyone know what kind of descent the finish is today?

You're probably right, as you normally are. Just think he looks like the only one who has had and held form in both GT's. Look at the state of Pinot so far in this one.
Hope he gets the nod and some luck next year. -

Are cyclists pay disclosed anywhere? Quoted figures I've seen suggest a super domestiqie cost less than half what a average sprinter or classics winner costs

Look at the state of Pinot so far in this one.
Pinot came in stage hunting so purposefully played it easy breezy to be rested and allowed in breaks. I may have heard he's a bit ill now as well?

• #2513
I think you're right, of all the riders who rode the Giro, he looks like he has the best form here, and he had good form there too.
-
• #2514
Pinots ill according to inrng and hoping to get better for the alps, so currently taking it easy
-
• #2515
Yes, sense has prevailed and both Uran and Bennett have had their punishments rescinded.

Makes sense. I think after peaking for the Giro and trying to get ready for the Tour, you're even more at risk of getting a bug. These guys are so on limit they are susceptible to everything.
Can't imagine trying to do this kinda stuff while under the weather. I've got a very mild chest bug at the moment and thought twice about a 30 mile pootle this evening. I'm going to HTFU and nail it though. Just like Pinot and the Asatna guy with the broken arm and hand. -

Surely (after those retired and suffering from worse injuries after crashing of course) one of the unluckiest guys in the peloton

Varied slope, through a forest with not much visibility. Suits Bardet, obvs. Flattens out a bit before the finish.

Bennett's time penalty has been overturned by the UCI.
-
• #2520
As has Uran's according to andyp, just up there ^

They've rescinded them as the team cars had struggled to feed the riders before the 20 km to go point due to race traffic.

Of course, nothing to do with the performance any other rider at all... :) #tinfoilhat

oops I started to scroll up the page but got distracted by Contador missing his train.

Even so both ASO and UCI's rules and decision-making looking very poor: vague, poorly worded, inconsistently applied.

How very Gallic.
As for trains, remember Paris-Roubaix in 2015? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12NugxhmiEE
Anyone in think Tony Martin could do anything today? Currently 200/1
