• Selling these as I have switched to all carbon (+ expensive!) ones on my 'Sunday Special' bike. They come with a campagnolo freehub (10 speed compatible, and 11 I think, but not sure). They are in pretty good nick, with plenty of life left in them. There is a little play in the rear hub that I didn't notice when they were on the bike (probably an easy fix if necessary). They come with skewers and I will throw in a pair of used Continental 4000s tyres (if wanted). Some details:

    Weight pair: 1295g (front: 545g + rear: 750g)
    Rim Information:
    Material: Maxtal
    Height: 22mm/25mm asymetrical
    Joint: SUP
    Breaking surface: UB control
    Spoke Information:
    Material: carbon and zicral
    Shape: straight pull, bladed
    Number: front 16: rear 20
Lacing: front radial and rear non drive, x2 rear drive side
    Hub Information:
    Body: carbon/aluminium
    Axle: aluminium
    Bearings: QRM SL

Not really sure what to ask for these, as they don't come up very often, but will plump for £175 collected to start with (if I am way out let me know). They can be picked up from Battersea (SW8) or could meet at Waterloo/Victoria stations (don't really want to post, but might be able to work something out if needed). Any questions just let me know.

  • Do you think I'm not ask enough for them? ;-)

Have had interest on PM as well - timeline shows before @righty, but will try to be fair about it.

  • You've not asked enough

  • Sold pending pick up!

  • Bargain of the century - £1400 wheels for the price of a second hand pair of Ksyriums

Assuming there's nothing up with them, someone is going to be rubbing their hands in glee!

  • Assuming there's nothing up with them, someone is going to be rubbing their hands in glee!

    Nobody pays £1,400 for R-Sys.

  • True - but that was their RRP, and I think you're missing the point, which is echoed above, the price is low regardless of whether anyone ever paid RRP!

  • I'll sell you this brick for £900

It's a bargain because normally I'd price it at £2,000

BTW I think £175 is a fair price.

  • Again, missing the point, which I'll reiterate, again:

£175 is a low price for a pair of R-Sys SL

Forget opinion and personal taste (which is clearly the factor at play here) strictly speaking statistically, if you looked at the average price a pair of R-Sys sell for, £175 is low.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • I thought your point was that they were a bargain?

£175 is a price for some R-Sys of which we don't really know the condition. No idea on the second hand market for them. Not many people wake up in the middle of the night thinking they want some though, I'd imagine.

The price is on-point for a pair of fair aluminum, non-wide but aesthetically pleasing training wheels though.

  • I'm not sure what my point is anymore....

  • me too................

  • Much as I enjoyed the little pricing discussion, I guess on second-hand stuff it is pretty much in the eye of the beholder (buyer) as to whether it is a bargain or not! Hopefully, @righty will be happy with his purchase. If not, he will know where to find me ;-)
