  • Did it erase the map of the country you are in? (heard it happened last week for a wahooligan)

  • Not that I'm aware of as everything still shows at other zoom levels.

  • It looks like I've sorted it out. I deleted all the european maps, then added them back again, and now the UK map is allowing me to zoom all the way in and shows the full street detail at all zoom levels. Sweet! :)

  • In hindsight I could probably have just deleted the United Kingdom because it took bloody hours to load every European map back onto it. :)

  • I forgot to unpause my ELEMNT - is there anyway I can get the second half of my ride back?

I thought Strava ignored manual pausing in case it was used to get KOMs but it's only uploaded the bit before I paused

  • has anyone solved the issues of rides only uploading the first 5km or so? Don't want to have to use a USB cable to fetch the .fit file every time

  • Ensure its up to date with software, but no they haven't totally resolved it. They promise they are working on it though, and I'm inclined to believe them.

  • I have found routing works best on 200m / 500m views.

  • all up to date yeah. Lets hope its resolved soon!

On another note - I borrowed an elemnt before buying one and now in my app, all the of the old rides from that other elemnt are still showing up.

Any idea how to 'wipe' the app?

  • On mine I go onto 'results' on the app, hold down on a particular ride, then it just gives the option to delete it. Not sure if there's a way to delete all in one go?

  • Today my Elemnt crashed during a ride. It restarted itself, said "retrieving ride" for a while and then we carried on as normal, showing stats from the beginning of the ride, continuing to record, so all seemed fine.

Got home and ended the ride after 150k, and got the message "crashes detected, upload y/n?" So select yes and discover that only the first 20k is there. Also tried uploading the file over usb direct to Strava and same outcome.

The Elemnt unit shows the whole ride distance, time etc but does not seem to have created a fit file with this info.

I also notice when plugged the unit into PC that the storage space is almost full. Could this be the reason? Are you supposed to clear out old rides manually?

    Anyone else had this BS?

  • I feel this would be best asked in the Wahoo group?

  • Probably right, Ed. I will send a note to their customer support as well.

It's only malfunctioned once before - that time i got a ride in two halves.

This time was actually worse cos it looked like it was recording my ride, but it didn't create a fit file for 130km of it.

  • @Chas I had same problem yesterday 128km on the Bolt and 17km on the app. I contacted support.

  • Bought the Komoot subscription, since I find it to be the best app based route builder for the Elemnt.

  • Interesting, will look into that.

  • Okay, that is pretty awesome.

  • imagine ever getting that response from garmin

  • It's awesome if they fix it; yes.

Their record on fixing things is good so I'm hopeful.

    Thanks @Thuekr for sharing.

  • They have released new Elemnt app + unit software (1422). My bad data ride on app is now recovered (holding down and choose "delete and sync again").

  • Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how good is the gps/maps for riding off road? Thanks.

  • Thanks - I accidentally deleted my ride whilst I was trying to get it re-synch with the previous version of the app.

So I think those data are lost, but good to see a fix has been done.

  • App updated, all fine. But needed to re-pair phone to Elemnt.

Could I remember how to find the settings page on the Elemnt? Err... No.

Half an hour of messing about, re-sets etc later, I accidentally pressed the power button and... There it is!

    Doh.
