  • Because the EC1 guys collapsed the global economy in 2008!

  • Define Londoner?
    Born here
    Lives here
    Works here
    Likes Chas and Dave

All EC1 workers appear to work here
    Some will live here
Very few seem to be born here
    Everyone likes Chas and Dave

  • Fortunately things have turned around and things are fine for everybody again.

  • Not really. I read that their bonuses are still nowhere near the pre-2008 levels. How are they supposed to eat.....

    Platefuls of cocaine?

  • In that case, yeah I don't get the out of town hate either. It's not like they are taking members away from Royston Vasey Wheelers.
Londoners have every right to chastise them simply for existing and creating a pseudo elitist attitude to cycling. If some of the collective eventually realise there's more to the world than big arse in Italian sportives and get involved in organising/marshalling races or supporting those with less privilege than them, then great. A hat tip to this as a long term goal rather than the current self serving crap they currently spout would be nice.

  • Those levels were the high water mark. The average bonus (adjusted for inflation) will never get back there.

Some individuals will be fine but as a whole, we're on our knees with barely two cases of Cristal in the fridge.

  • I hear that thanks to this thread the UK is now exporting 9990000 megalulz of power to Belgium via subsea cables, enough to cook a waffle for every man woman and childin the country. Hooray for EC1 and their generosity in being so transparently easy to ridicule, and their willingness to come on here and further remove any shred of doubt from the likelihood they're a bunch of ballsacks. Belgium thanks you.

    Yours,

    The Saltiest

  • Try this simple exercise: replace all the pictures of bikes with pictures of sandwiches on the EC1 site - does that make any difference? Does the site now make more or less sense?

  • They have just started construction on a converter station on our side. Which has cut off my beloved long seaside route from Bruges to Ghent.

So, no, Belgium does not thank them.

  • Have always enjoyed the related searches google creates...

  • Remind me never to do racker with you.

"Dov not in your fucking mouth!!!!"

  • Has this become the 'things that are shit about cycling' thread? If so I present this

  • "mobile inflation technology"

I did cringe a bit, that said I can see where they're aiming this - when I travel I take a floor pump with me in the bag or a standard size frame pump and a little electronic pressure gauge, simply so I can go from flat to bang on 65psi or whatever. I expect they'll sell a decent number of these.

  • "Tactical pump...."

  • Can someone help explain what a "curated event" is?

  • Can someone help explain what a "curated event" is?

Is it the opposite of a spontaneous event?

  • It's an event hosted by a curate. Tea with the vicar

  • Involves a number of eggs, past their best.

  • Tactical pumps. What a phrase. We could all do with a tactical pump every now and again.

  • Ain't dat the truth!

  • I miss this thread.
