  • wonder why wiggins didn't want to compete, riding a road bike.

  • and huge win by dennis in the afternoon

  • Forecast in London tomorrow looks promising.

  • He's nothing left to prove has he?

  • No. He doesn't. Greatest British cyclist of all time, no challenger.

I presume he knows he didn't have the form to be competitive and so just rode his road bike. Because I doubt he's lost he love of winning and racing. Also I wonder if he didn't want it being about him. I know last year at the TOB he was happy to ride in the service of his young team members and help them be there and try win. He's a good guy.

  • No. He doesn't. Greatest British cyclist of all time, no challenger.

    Edit - Wrong race! Idiot...

Overview of tomorrow, where does everyone want to meet?

  • At the dark end of the street.

  • Hiding in shadows, where we don't belong?

  • Living in darkness, to hide our wrongs.

  • Second from the right, I'll wear my rhinestone weed outfit.

  • In all seriousness, Trafalgar Square looks a good place to watch as they'll pass by there more than anywhere else, as far as I can work out, and there are a few fast looking corners there.

I expect that will be a popular idea and I'm not sure I'll make it down at all because I'm playing football in the morning and last week that wiped me out.

  • Wonder of we'll see Blythe win today.
He's either been keeping his nose dry, or doesn't have form. But it's a slight uphill and suits him.

  • What time does this start, 2:30pm?

  • I'm going to try and set up camp just before that last bend. As I imagine that's as close as we can get. Will update when I'm there if anyone wants to come through...

    1. I'm at the VERY tight bend off regents street wearing a le jeune sun tour jersey. Come say hi if you see me!
  • Great interview with Wiggins after the race. Interesting point when he is talkung about Stve Cummings and hails him as the most successful British cyclist this season (accepting that Cavendish may disagree). The interviewer acquiesed. No mention of Froome.

  • One of the great things about the ToB was that there were more than 50 riders of the 120 in the Young Rider competition.

  • Wiggins referred to Froome as the 'Greatest tour rider of his generation,' actually.

[That might have been in a different interview. I can't recall exactly because I watched a few of Tour of Britain highlights last night, playing catch-up.]

  • Froome isn't British like Cummings is.
    I don't consider Froome British.

  • He rides on a British license, ergo he's British.

Just because his parents chose to emigrate, doesn't mean he can't associate himself with Britain.

  • You know what I mean though. My second sentence was not clear, I don't consider him British like Cummings. Through and through, born and raised.

Cummings grew up in the UK, racing time trials, road races, raced the British amateur ranks.

Froome is British by nationality, and I'm not saying he can't associate, as he id British and I'm proud that he is. But he's not British like Cummings, or Cavendish, or Stannard or Dowsett.

  • I'd wager Cummings pays his taxes here too.
