Can anyone give advice on how to reduce bikestash? I guess only I know which bikes to keep or not, but some pointers would be appreciated. Currently on 7 but two more planned ... eek. Kind of want three or four.
*Track iron: refurbed 70s Geoff Butler 531sl w Campag pista (fits well)
*Fixeh: Neil Orrell 80s/90s Hellenic 531ds track w/ mixed but lovely parts. (fits well)
*Fixed rando/audaxy thing: Dave Yatez 853 custom (unlikely to sell this, fit is obv excellent)
*Vintagey Audax: Mercian Olympic 531 1976 w NR on 70s Phils x tb14, (Lightish and lovely, a bit long for me)
*Road: Duell in Brain tubes ~1998 2x9 Athena (stiff and a good roadie, fits well)
*Tour/commute/everything: 80s EGBates 531ST heavy duty and great, but noodly under high-up loads, (bit long for me)
*ATB: Condor 853 hardtail ~1998 w/ Deore, (fits well)
*Road Fixed vintage: Jack Taylor curved (repair) in pipeline (probably going to feel a bit long for me)
*One Bike to Rule Them All: TBC special project in pipeline, hopefully will replace four of the above. Will be on the tourer/bike for life/light cargo side of things

ATBs are required for the zombie apocalypse. You can't get rid of that!
-
• #137
Christ, I really do need more bikes.
-
• #138
Exactly!
-
• #139
No, not more bikes, it only makes you ride less because there's always one bike that needs maintenance. and if not you're building just a new one. I really wish I could downsize my collection (without having a bad feeling) and I could resist when a "new" one appears...

About 13,600.
-
• #141
So almost 14 bikes?
;)
-
• #142
One and only track bike left.
But in past was about 130 road bikes an couple track bikes :)
-
• #143
Fully working as they're supposed to? Probably about 14, yes.
;)

If you don't neccessarily need the money for other urgent expenses, I'd advise you to just store your campag pista track iron somewhere on the attic under a blanket and pretend you sold it. In 10 years, it'll be worth even more and you'll be happy to see it again while in the meantime you can just pretend that you have one bike less :)

Damn, this topic reminds me as well that I'll need to reduce my collection in a couple of years:
- Vetta steel vintage road (sunday/fair day cruising)
- Rossin steel vintage lo pro (^ same, but faster)
- Alain Michel steel lo pro track (tarck)
- Cannondale track (track only from now on, after selling my look)
- Klein Quantum neo-retro'ish fast road
- Surly cross check (sscx)
- Corex/Nagaswagga racklyf beater (my everyday go-to bike)
- Cookie fluro radness soon to be winter commuter (just need to finish all the cabling)
- Vetta steel vintage road (sunday/fair day cruising)

Same here, only got one - Vintage Singlespeed Bike.
I am amazed at people who keep more than 3. Respect.
its not 'that' cheap .. a 26" can be built up half that price with a bit ob ebay trawling.
