Kettle died. Only bought a few months ago so was annoyed at the prospect of having to buy a new one. I knew it had to be something simple as the light and switch we're staying on, just no heat. The safety cut out was also still turning the switch off when lifted off the base. Turned out a contact to the heating element had just come loose. No solder in the house so tied it down with some electrical wire I had in the toolbox.

I'd be pretty proud of that wrap, up until the bit where they finish it with zip ties and blunt / left handed scissors.

Lol, i recked them falling down some stairs so were no good as normal shoes anymore. So took out the laces and use them as 'outdoor slippers'

Ruining a perfectly good Facom pin wrench
Cool tool! Never seen it before and just googled it.... Did you only ruin the pins, which I imagine are replaceable?
-

Yes, the ends are threaded and there’s set of different sized pins that screw in. I got it for an obscure job on an obscure Citroen that I don’t have any more and I don’t think I’ve ever used it for anything else! It’s chunky but it can’t do bucketloads of torque.
Edit: actually, that’s probably not fair. The only things I’ve used it on that needed loads of torque have been jobs it wasn’t designed for i.e. this and the lock rings on 2CV rear drums.

I wanted to remove a freehub from a brand new hub which wasn't built into a wheel. Couldn't get any leverage.
