That's the thing. These people have watched too many movies and don't think through how human behaviour plays out irl.

Maybe if a group of protestors were armed and these quazi paramilitary police saw that they'd be exposed as the bullies they are and back down.

But my opinion (and experienced of similar personality types) is that these sorts of people are amped as fuck and permanently waiting for it to kick off. They are type who escalate. Which in this hypothetical leads to a massive Waco style shot out not the baddies running away.

It's also made me realise that through all of this I haven't (as in me personally) watched any footage from a reliable media source. It's just been linked via here and twitter and filtered through my bias.

I don't think there is any US media source that isn't heavily partisan at this point
