Posted to Seth Abramson’s twitter account. Presumably written by him?
It’s impossible to know if it’s true. How is this ever provable without the having tapped/bugged Trump themselves? At least one witness in Russia is already dead.
I think the fbi would be as likely sit on evidence (to keep Trump in check and peace) as they are to release everything.
Fucking hell. No wonder Trump wants a couple of wars to busy our minds.

you probably already know but if you click on "in reply to" it jumps back to the post being replied to, it's quite helpful for keeping track of conversations

I wonder if there's also a generational aspect to the Facebook influence, and whether its influence will wane as today's 'youth' get older. What I mean is that 'kids' today are apparently not heavy users of Facebook, and assuming they don't convert to it en masse (why would they?), it won't be able to spread (dis)information to them as they age. But that's not to say that other forms of web-scale communication won't have a role to play (i.e. something other than Facebook might still be effective in driving the interests of the #fakenews people). However, for Facebook itself, perhaps we might have seen the height of its power (to subvert)? Shame it has helped fuck the world with Trump and Brexit though.

Curious interview, Trump claims to have invented the word "fake".
“I think one of the greatest of all terms I’ve come up with is ‘fake.’
I guess other people have used it, perhaps, over the years, but I’ve
never noticed it,” he said. -

This wikipedia entry for it (Yes I know rolls eyes wikipedia etc.) shows an 1894 illustration depicting "Reporters with various forms of "fake news" from an 1894 illustration by Frederick Burr Opper"

Interesting interview with Daniel Kahneman that mentions Trump (among other things)

Yeah he’s awesome and his ideas really important. Highly relevant to Trump. But also EU governance and UK public policy (universal credit!)
He apparently has a tested list of silly shit people will do, knowing it’s not in their interest.

I read that earlier, if I read it correctly the warrant is for incidents before the infamous parking garage fight. As far as I am aware those aren't caught on camera so who knows if those claims are true or not and I am surprised anything is being done about it on the basis of it was a while ago and one mans word against another. Maybe that fact points towards there being some video evidence of that earlier incident.

Yes, I thought the story might have a bit of background to it.

To be successful, Mattis and Tillerson decided they should use talking points and commentary with which they believed Trump would be most familiar: the role that the military, intelligence officers and diplomats play in making the world safe for American businesses, like The Trump Organization, to operate and expand abroad. American troops provide stability, diplomats push rule of law and anti-corruption measures and the intelligence community provides context and analysis that drive the first two, the briefers explained, according to the officials.
tldr; tell Trump what's in it for him

And another Tweet overnight on the same theme.
"Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump· 7h
Network news has become so partisan, distorted and fake that licenses must be challenged and, if appropriate, revoked. Not fair to public!"
It's weird that she smiles at the audience laughing rather than what her old man is saying:
