  • Oh my gentle sweet baby jesus the boy scout jamboree speech. He's actually having a mental breakdown in slow motion on stage in front of the world's media. It's actually unbelievable. You couldn't script a more comically deranged and narcissistic address. I mean he's actually insane right? I mean like clearly completely fucking unhinged. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jul/25/donald-trump-speech-boy-scouts-jamboree

I’ll tell you a story that’s very interesting for me when I was young.
There was a man named William Levitt, Levitttowns, you have some here,
you have some in different states … And he was a very successful man.
He was a homebuilder, became an unbelievable success, and got more and
    more successful …

And he sold his company for a tremendous amount of money. At the time
especially, this was a long time ago, sold his company for a
tremendous amount of money. And he went out and bought a big yacht and
he had a very interesting life. I won’t go any more than that because
you’re Boy Scouts, I’m not going to tell you what he did – should I
tell you? Should I tell you? Oh, you’re Boy Scouts, but you know life,
you know life. So, look at you, who would think this is the Boy
    Scouts, right?

So he had a very interesting life, and the company that bought his
company was a big conglomerate. And they didn’t know anything about
building homes, and they didn’t know anything about picking up the
nails and the sawdust and selling it, and the scraps of wood … So they
called William Levitt up and they said, would you like to buy back
your company and he said yes, I would. He so badly wanted it, he got
bored with this life of yachts and sailing and all of the things he
did in the south of France and other places … But what happened is he
bought back his company and he bought back a lot of empty land … and
in the end he failed and he failed badly. Lost all of his money. He
went personally bankrupt, and he was now much older.

And I saw him at a cocktail party and it was very sad. Because the
hottest people in New York were at this party. It was the party of
Steve Ross. Steve Ross, he was one of the great people. He came up and
discovered – really founded – Time Warner, and he was a great guy. He
had a lot of successful people at the party. And I was doing well so I
    got invited to the party.

The whole thing is really odd, apparently full of fake news and crowd size. And then, stuff like this, which I assume is meant to be some positive anecdote for scouts to live up to?

  • ^^Haha. Snap. Are we the same person?

  • Have you ever seen each other?

  • haha! Excellent! I'll leave it up. It's enough of a car crash that it's worth laughing at twice :)

  • Have you ever seen each other?

    Not in the same room

  • form an orderly queue

  • "Trump Youth"

I just read he had them booing at the mention of Hillary Clinton??

  • Yeah, there was some footage somewhere (can't remember where) which sounded like that

  • Not keen on the idea. Encouraging Trump to do a few soothing sessions on the couch may be our best hope of preventing nuclear armageddon. He may already be in therapy for all we know.

Moreover, creating a sense of "the psychiatrists vs. the alpha male" will make it that much harder to convince the various abusive assholes of the world to go and seek professional help.

  • (Basically a ploy to fire Mueller)

  • Presumably today's dreadful announcement about banning transgender people from the military is both pandering to the religious right and hiding some other story?

  • Presumably. Sanders said that Defense Secretary Jim Mattis was told after the decision had been made - well, he was on holiday - so presumably it boils down to the fact Trump is a prejudiced little fuck.

  • It would be clearer if he'd said 'about'. The people he's talking to might assume that he means it's inscribed on the statue (it's only 'on a plaque in the museum in its base'). :)

  • Sounds about right! Sadly, I reckon this is one of several 'easy wins' he has up his sleeve when he is in need of trying to improve his approval rating amongst other prejudiced little fucks.

  • Paul Ryan is a spineless piece of shit. FFS.

  • can't tell if joke or not...

  • Incredible stuff. Making Spicey look good already

Scaramucci tweeted Wednesday night: "In light of the leak of my financial disclosure info which is a felony, I will be contacting FBI and the @JusticeDept #swamp @Reince45."

The report was based on Scaramucci's financial disclosure form, a public document.

  • It reads badly - he's saying that the person who leaked it was committing a felony rather than his financials being one (though they no doubt are :))

  • How is it possible to leak a publicly available document? The thing he is saying was leaked is supposed to be public domain!

  • But dubtap's suggesting the document was public, so how can leaking it be a crime?
