  • Hotels innit. Or maybe some jails. You can imagine that winning votes.

  • Pretty sure he did that yesterday

  • Hah!

Yeah quite a few rocks to break on Mars :p

  • Well he said that, but actually it's just a continuation of what NASA was doing before, except with less near Earth things - read: less environmental studies.

  • Michael Flynn offers to testify on Russia etc in exchange for immunity from prosecution.

Here he is saying that people who ask for immunity probably committed a crime, in relation to Clinton's emails, last year: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2016/09/25/gen_flynn_hillary_clinton_shouldnt_be_too_big_to_jail.html

The beginning of the end for the Donald?

  • Apparently no immunity has yet been offered though. So either there's no appetite to pursue it or they reckon they can nail Trump without gifting Flynn any freebies. It's hard to imagine an outcome that would impeach Trump without implicating Flynn so demanding immunity is pretty brazen.

  • I really hope that it isn't because Republicans don't want to pursue it.
With the chairman obstructing the House intelligence committee and colluding with the White House, it is very likely.

  • Nah, fuck it. Just give him immunity if he asks for it. He probably doesn't deserve it, but then again he's not the real target here.

Best case scenario; people who worked with Trump in previous business ventures will come crawling out of the woodwork offering decades worth of old dirt in exchange for immunity.

  • No one ever offers immunity in advance. That's not how it works.

If he actually has anything useful to tell them, then he'll have to divulge something first.

I have a feeling this is just more fucking distraction in this reality show. Meanwhile actual laws are being passed.

  • If Trump goes, does the USA gets Pence?

He's a nasty piece of work.

  • Unless Pence is also implicated, yes.

  • So, North Korea it is.

ill be honest, I was expecting somewhere middle eastern but North Korea was always an outside chance. should have held a sweepstake

  • I imagine that Trump very much wants "war-time President" on his list of acheivements, but in this case he probably thinks that he can bully China into buying enough American cars to balance the trade deficit.

I work for an American company- we're not allowed to sell anything to China for fear that they'll reverse engineer it and flood the market with cheap copied. That might be a useful thing to look at before nuking North Korea.

  • AFAIK the Obama administration let 8 years pass without hashing out even the most basic contingency plan with China, so as to establish how China the US would deal with each other should shit hit the fan in the Korean peninsula.

    (non-ironic thanks Obama gif.)

  • I'm pretty sure that someone somewhere in the USG was working on the N Korea brief before Obama took office, all through his tenure and even now under Trump. Maybe (probably) not the same person, but it's hardly something the USG is going to have ignored.

  • Sorry to lower the tone, but have we had this yet

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1MrDXZkHGg

  • There's also a story about the ex CEO of the Blackwater mercenary company (whose sister has office in the Trump government) meeting a Putin confidante secretly in the Seychelles that was organised by a mid East government that ohmygodIcan'tdothisanymore

  • ^if I hadn't heard the same story I would have read this and thought 'oh now they're just being silly, its a joke thread'

but its real and you're not.

  • So Bannon was removed from the security council.

I'm guessing it's related to the strong smell of booze and shouting to himself about "burning it all down" in the hallways between meetings.

  • The new National security advisor wanted him gone, and happily he's gone. This seems to be a glimmer of hope in a shit sandwich.

  • Except Bannon set up a parallel group called the Strategic Initiatives Group which he chairs. And he is still chief strategist and has Trumps ear.

  • Only just seen this account. Apologies if a re-post.
