So the national security advisor (who used to be head of the Pentagon's version of the CIA) thought he could have a phonecall before the election with the Russian Ambassador that wasn't going to be recorded? Then lied about the items discussed?

NY Times article explains quite clearly that yesterday's call was the first time they spoke since November 14th rather than saying they hadn't spoken at all.
