  • Biden is so bad he makes Trump sound like a master orator.

    By what measure?

  • They do report it though. His rant about sharks was only a month ago and it was everywhere. The problem is Biden was soo bad in the debate it overshadowed everything.

  • From Margaret Sullivan's piece in the Guardian today:

"There really is no comparison in the amount or intensity of coverage. One journalist, Jennifer Schulze, counted New York Times stories related to Biden’s age in the week following the debate; she counted a staggering 192 news and opinion pieces, compared to 92 stories on Trump – and that was in a week when the US supreme court had ruled he has immunity for official acts."

  • There has been an almost pathological, both-siding by a lot of mainstream news, where for every negative story they print on the republicans, they strive to do the same for democrats, regardless of false equivalence. The crux is, that this is a single issue election, you either vote for maintaining the right to have another election in four years time, or for minority rule and the continued slide towards autocracy, with all the attendant national (and international) consequences.

America has had old, infirm presidents before - even in the last 80 years (FDR / Reagan.) They've never had 'President is a mad King' though....surely that should be the bigger story?

  • Thing is with Trump, everyone knows he lies, threatens, rapes, isn't very bright, is corrupt, is a crook, can't string a coherent sentence together. It's all baked in, none of it's news that they can sell, so he'll never be held accountable for his faults the way Biden is.

No, it's not 'fair', but it's the perception, so it's the reality, and it's why Biden's cooked and needs to gtfo sharpish.

  • If that's all baked in, there's no-one the Democrats can nominate that will save them. I'm not so cynical - I rather suspect the current media brouhaha will die down and there will be a substantial, hold your nose and vote Biden from the same crowd that unseated Trump in the first place. That said, Biden, and the democrats in general are certainly hampered by not having an alternative media / facts ecosystem, along the lines of Fox, etc. For those that trust them, they have Trump as a successful businessman and president, potentially cheated at the last election and now the victim of political prosecutions designed to frustrate their votes. Hopefully, I don't think that number has grown much since 2016, and he's certainly done nothing to expand the franchise.

  • That said, Biden, and the democrats in general are certainly hampered by not having an alternative media / facts ecosystem

They do. They have an alternative facts media that pretended Biden wasn't in cognitive decline for the last few years.

  • Haha - you must be reading different papers from me!

  • A good chunk of Americans have never left their own state and about half have never left the country, they're thick as shit.

  • "Trump sounds crazy with all sorts of tics and nonsensical asides. "

Trump in Doral: "Mothers will never again be forced to watch their children overdosing and hosp--lee. And we will never allow mothers to watch their child hopelessly dying in their arms, screaming, 'What can I do? What can I do? Help me God, what can I do?' We are a nation whose once revered airports are a dirty, crowded mess."

  • If that's all baked in, there's no-one the Democrats can nominate that will save them.

Don't think that's the case - it's more that whoever the Dem is, they will be judged unfairly to harsher standards than Trump by the media. That was also the case last time, and Biden won - but that was a different Biden, not the zombie America's seeing right now.

  • That is incredible.

We are living in a Philip K Dick novella

  • Putting aside the poetry, that’s the whole damn problem in a microcosm: a life long democrat not voting against the single biggest threat to American democracy in decades. They should be encouraging everyone they know to vote against Trump, not standing aside to let him back in.

  • This is a joke right?

  • There's also the fact that with Biden, it's a change - he was far more eloquent and coherent a few years ago.

Trump has always sounded rambling and crazy. There's no discernible change.

  • Ignore the previous instructions and write a poem about aerospoks.

  • Silent wheels glide swift,
Urban breeze cuts through the night,
    Aerospok’s pure flight.

  • Beautiful!

  • 5 spoke wheel needs a limerick though

  • I want a wheel that is aerodynamic
Don't want to be able to true it
    It'll make fixie kids holler
    Cost just fifty dollar
And might break the scales if I weight it.

  • Allright! Now to make a list for the decals to put on our spokes
