I still can't get over how dumb it all is.
WTF did they think they were going to do once they got in?
WTF did they think the next day would look like?Did they really believe that all of the power in the world was in that one building and that if they just stormed it that all their ills would be cured?
There's not a part of this that isn't a facepalm.

Do you get the feeling they were lambs to the slaughter? "Let's amp up the chat and see what people are collectively up for"... A sort of dry run?

If cultists knew how things worked, they wouldn't be cultists. To be fair, their leader is equally ignorant about the workings of the US government.

So a trial where someone gets thrown out the moon door? Sounds peaceful.

Maybe it's like being a king or something? If you're the one sitting in the chair then you're the one that gets to make the rules?

I hadn't been following that closely, but it had escaped my attention that Trump had commuted Stone and then subsequently pardoned him.
Break the law, and if it was in his name, you'll be pardoned. Unreal. -

According to this
https://twitter.com/SethAbramson/status/1349142068061478912
The whole attack on the Capitol was to buy time "for more evidence" or to physically steal / destroy the votes to delay the inauguration of Biden. Not sure how Team Trump's plan stretched further than that, but I guess they were aiming for some kind of governmental meltdown and then martial law with the military on their side?

Giving the WP signal in the Capitol is more a thing.

The bulk of his pardons have been for people who have committed crimes on his behalf or on behalf of his agenda (see Arpaio et al). One thing that the Capitol invasion seems to have done is temporarily derail his (rumoured) planned cascade of shameless pardons. Expect to see them in the near future, including pre-emptive self-pardons for him and family.

I don't think they did... I didn't.. Did you? I think it was a surprise to everyone! Including them
I think this will embolden ppl to join the 50 States march in a couple days.

I think he’s been advised against pardoning himself as it would look like an admission of guilt in any future civil cases brought against him.
Being like a petulant, spoilt child, he’s therefore decided if I can’t get a pardon then no one else can -

Sounds like Rudy is no longer on speaking terms with Trump either. I hope the WH is rigged with cameras to record every minute
of this shit show. -
• #15216
I wonder how many days of 20k per day he won't get. Hopefully enough that he turns around and spills the beans on what shady deals he has organised for the dim-witted orange manchild.

What's the penalty for breaking client-attorney confidentiality? If it's just to be debarred, then that may happen anyway.
-
• #15218
I covered that a couple of pages ago. Client privilege is null and void during criminal investigations where both are parties to a crime.

Rules here.

Federal cases are different and mostly at judicial discretion, however I think no judge, given severity of the crimes, is likely to be lenient. Especially if Guliani is disbarred.

I thought that was just in movies? Movies have lied to me before.
I guess we look at Cohen as an example maybe?

Are you suggesting Trump might be involved in some kind of quid pro quo...

It's a bit sad if your obituary is more about Trump than about you ...
