it’s guy fawkes stuff.
Pretty close. This is the biggest wake up call they’ll get. Fortunately it seems at least some of the feds are breaking up the Q networks etc.
The 17th Jan threat needs to be treated like the existential threat it is. Not saying involve the military, but the entire law enforcement spectrum needs to be used to frustrate these loons from organising and doing something stupid.

Lobbyists doing their 'job'.
Preventing tasers being classified as 'firearms' probably circumvents even mild restrictions upon ownership/concealed carry/transport across State lines etc. -

The Proud Boy chappie who was arrested a couple of days before the Insurrection fell foul of Washington DC laws that disallow gun ownership permits from out of State.

Also, how are people not talking about the pipe bombs?
I think that with all the noise and posturing with guns and body armour, most of the people who rioted wouldn’t have the conviction or balls to shoot a police officer, or follow through with hostage taking.
Fortunately. Not to say that they wouldn’t shoot you if you trespassed on their land, but when it comes to it, don’t think they would genuinely risk putting their life on the line supporting Trump.

I bet physically walking into the Capitol and sitting down at a workstation or plugging something into an Ethernet port is an easier way of hacking into a network than spear fishing passwords. Yikes.
Laptops were definitely stolen too

He can’t be pardoned for something he has been convicted of, yet.
Apart from actual precedent for federal offences:
Now, THEREFORE, I, GERALD R. FORD, President of the United States, pursuant to the pardon power conferred upon me by Article II, Section 2, of the Constitution, have granted and by these presents do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9,1974.

Ok, so a bit of a plot twist.
In 2017 or 18, can't remember which, I was in Miami for a conference for a cryptocurrency project I was leading at the time. Some of my team introduced me to a chap who made a proposal to do our marketing.
To cut a long story short, I outright refused because it only took a little bit of digging to discover that he had some worrying political views and personal beliefs. It actually turned into an argument with my team who thought I should be able to put political differences aside for a business decision. As if to bolster my opinion in the guy, after my speech at the conference was finished, he introduced me to Jack Posobiec who was one of the people behind Pizzagate.
Anyway, imagine my surprise when I click on this link and see his face!

Despite being a racist and anti Semite, from memory he wanted $120k in return for tweeting to his (mostly fake) twitter followers.

The New York Times are picking up on Ali Alexander's involvement too.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/06/us/politics/capitol-mob-trump-supporters.html
There's a video of him saying he coordinated the Capitol protest with several congressman in order to put maximum pressure on the voting process.
Can't say I'll lose any sleep over him going to prison for a long time.
Whilst he was a clearly a piece of shit when I met him he was a long way off from being a stop the steal/Q believer.

The way they report on this in that NYT article is brilliant. None of this loons stuff; treating them as conspirators and referring to their actions with chilling restraint.

This is a weird interview with him (who thinks its a good idea to give an interview inside the building you've broken into?). Doesn't seem like someone who lives in the real world.

A police officer received head injuries from a fire extinguisher at the scene of the riot and died some time later. That's enough to show what type of people were there.

He’s clearly an extremely impressionable person. Such a strangely aimless atmosphere in there.
Even if only half a dozen of these loons were organised enough, it’s terrifying how close this came to globally altering things. Obviously they were allowed to wander in (effectively), but they were two corridors from potentially murdering the government. I mean... it’s guy fawkes stuff.
