Doesn’t seem that trump has any credible evidence for a legal challenge to the election. Perhaps more crucially, he no longer seems to have the political clout to manoeuvre the repubs or sway the courts, unlike the Bushes in 2000.

The aces I can see up his sleeve now are bartering presidential pardons in exchange for political support to 1) cling to power, or increasingly likely 2) avoid legal troubles come January. It’s possible he could secure a pardon from Biden, as the dems won’t pick up rifles if trump is pardoned, unlike some Q fools who might try it if trump is jailed.

He’ll probably try to pardon himself if Biden refuses, as he’d have nothing to lose and he’d stand a fighting chance in court.

Sadly I think it's unlikely - his lawyers will attempt to gum up the whole system as much as possible. It'll be a war of attrition.

It does seem he’s fleecing his supporters, same as he’s fleeced investors all his life. Little, if any, of his donations are going towards the election lawsuits.

The President can only pardon those convicted of federal crimes. I don’t believe he can grant immunity in advance of conviction either, so he cannot protect himself from future cases or from state prosecutions, which covers a lot of fraud statute.

Presidential pardons only cover Federal crimes.
The SDNY, Southern District of New York, prosecuting him for State crimes,
racketeering, tax avoidance, Insurance fraud, etc.,
will eventually find the evidence against at least one member of the Trump family.

Legally it’s not very convincing, but thinking politically, is it likely the powers that be (including Biden) wouldn’t want to lock up a former president? Every single bitter election prior to this, the winner has always gone on about national healing and moving on. My guess is they’d think jailing trump would weaken the office of the Prez, weaken the US, set a bad precedent for the establishment, etc., so they’d oppose trump in court, and eventually the SCOTUS would say something like ‘In principle a president can’t do this, but since this is the first time and there are xyz list of unique factors to consider, we’ll let trump off the hook, but don’t anyone try it again’.

As for the state charges, I’m looking forward to seeing what happens with those.

There's the other argument (can't find the source right now) that if Trump's people can spread enough doubt about the veracity of the election result there is (supposedly) a provision where a president is appointed rather than elected. If so, their game isn't so much to win in court as to sow enough doubt among ordinary republicans to make them write to their congressmen/senators (can't remember which) demanding they disregard the electoral college and go for an appointment instead. They should have the numbers in their favour if they can pull it off.
