But we shouldn't give climate change deniers a chance to muddy the waters when we're discussing scientific evidence for climate change.
Someone should tell the BBC this.

I rather think that it's the money behind the people in power that want them to hang on to power, as it keeps them in the money. Or probably a combination of the two.
To your point on bringing bad idea to light & debating them - sure, but you can't do that if the other actors do so in bad faith - Vaccines / climate change etc... need reasoned & nuanced explanations at times, but when you're spending your time refuting utter horseshit, that explanation is lost.
cf. the adage about playing chess with pigeons.

Calling it for a Biden landslide. Trump will try to claim an early victory but the numbers will be all going against him and the media won't play along.
Biden stays for 1 year before stepping down for Harris.
Trump is prosecuted from multiple directions but probably escapes jail time. Hopefully is bankrupt again. -

I think this is behind his implied 'refusal' to leave, if it comes to that - he will try to cut a deal to leave quietly if they don't prosecute him.

Yeah, I was just about to post that.
There's something about TED talks that really grinds my gears, but that one was quite interesting. -

Possibly I guess - depends how close it is. With a Biden landslide and no recourse to the courts, he's not going to have much of a hand to negotiate.
And even so - that would only be a federal deal I assume. Plenty of state and civil actions waiting for him - tax fraud, pussy-grabbing etc. -

Plenty of state and civil actions waiting for him
Until now (and I'm talking about prior to his presidency also) his legal teams have been pretty good at kicking these cans down the road for years, even decades. If they succeed again, even for a few years, he'll probably be dead anyway.

He owes loads to a Chinese bank doesn't he?
Maybe he flees there and they'll give him a visa :p
(ok joke alert, but it's 2020 and it wouldn't surprise me anymore)

Case in point is looking at the tax breaks over the last 20yrs. Both sides have backed higher tax breaks for the top 20% of earners than the lowest 20%.
(I'll try and find a source, but I'm very confident I've remembered that correctly)

That. All. Day. Long.
At least fuckers like the Bushes had a notion of civil duty. The Trumps as a political family will be the very worst kind.

Holy fucking shit, I didn’t know what hanging Chad was before now, my anxiety has just gone through the roof.

Avoid the front page of today's NYT then. Article outlines some of the voter suppression already happening.

On the future of the Trumps (not the current Trumps), I still like this, from 1989.

Trump was nearly an hour late for a much heralded final phone interview of the campaign for Fox news just now and has chosen to speak at length about the size of the crowds at his rallies.

Fingers crossed this was Trump’s farewell tour.

Proof of a diverse voting block. There's a lady in the back that looks vaguely Italian-American.

I've just put the last £2.60 in my paddypower account on a Trump win. Which, given how good I am at these things, almost guarantees a Biden win.
According to the NYT today, "faint post marks" are going to be the new hanging chad.
Over 400 lawyers on retainer for the two parties. The ones working for the Republicans have the unofficial brief to try to void as many votes as possible.
