Trump busses on supporters to a rally at an airfield in Omaha, then flys out leaving them to walk back to their cars in sub zero temperatures with no busses laid on for the return journey. Result, a medical emergency;

They'll still vote trump.

• #10979
They’ll have to mail in a ballot though as they won’t be able to walk on those frost-bitten feet for a while.

Are friendly (small) wagers against the TOS? If not, any takers for election outcome? I’m feeling optimistic so will go for Biden 1-1 to beat trump.
Edit- wagers can be of varying nature, eg, 100 push ups, 2 laps around Regents, etc.

I've been thinking about those stranded people who ended up in hospital.
So far the focus has been on the incompetence of the campaign, but I am also wondering about how wretched the attendees must have been. How badly can a crowd of like minded folks from the same town fail in looking after another. It was only 5 miles to safety, couldn't they rustle up some taxis, get friends and family to come out to pick them up. Offer up any free seats to strangers who were poorly dressed etc. Considering it was only 5 miles it isn't too much to expect that some people would be happy to take several trips to collect stragglers. After all they are your fellow Trump supporters and the election is imminent.
Makes me think many of these guys are in a much worse state than you can perceive from the TV coverage. And that America as a society is very badly broken indeed. -

Indeed. But it can hardly come as a surprise that altriusm is a quality hard to find amongst the average Trump supporter.

It was at an airfield, so may not have been accessible to the public.

Sounds suspiciously like you're advocating some kind of socialism...

I think at the time people just don't realise. They don't realise what the overall situation is, how we see it now summed up and zoomed out, and they don't realise how dangerous it is for those around them. Likely many of the people who needed medical care didn't realise that either.

willy hill doing a promo of 50/1 for trump to win max bet £20. Still not a terrible return if it happens
-
• #10987
winnings are in the form of free bets akaik which is pretty shit
-
• #10988
Likely many of the people who needed medical care didn't realise that either.
Agree. And I don’t think it’s specific to Trump voters either.

Apparently they parked up 5ish miles away and were bussed in by a company but when the company who were led to believe they would receive payment when they arrived were given no payment, they decided to just leave.
Apparently this has happened before with the trump campaign leaving unpaid bills all over the place including for police in the town's where they have held rallies

Farage is speaking at today’s rally

• #10991
Totally normal for Trump to bring him on stage, nothing to see.

Link?
Edit: Found it. It's a £1 stake, not £20, so probably not worth the hassle:
- Max £1 bet at 50/1.
- Returns paid as 10 x £5 free bets (30 day expiry).
(If it was a £20 stake you could walk away with a free £950 fairly easily)
- Max £1 bet at 50/1.

when they arrived were given no payment, they decided to just leave.
And that again sounds something that should only happen in the badlands of a failed state. In what other first world country would a transport company have to worry that they would not get settlement if they just sent an invoice after the job? So worried that they would only commit to doing the return journey if they got cash upfront?

This is great. How potential scenarios and outcomes could play out if the result is ambiguous on election night.
