  • Yes, have seen similar tweets. A good idea. Might only work once though, and then there would never be any more press conferences!

  • The last PM of Canada stopped holding press conferences. It happens. but there are very few already. What's the point if he gets to pick the questions?

  • Oh man, this is the law firm Trump just had speaking on his behalf about his financial deals:

(not meant to insinuate anything, just funny)

  • ^lots of people are insinuating things, though. Which is pretty crap IMHO. Respected legal information publisher says law firm good at lawyering in tough country. What's wrong with that?

  • Depends what being a 'good' lawyer in an utterly corrupt justice system turns out to mean.

  • I don't think it means they represented Pussy Riot pro bono.

  • Some firms need to do business with Russia and will need good legal advice to do so. I don't think it's fair to impugn lawyers for sociopolitical situations they're not responsible for.

  • As I say, it depends what it turns out to mean, whether or not it's possible to be ethical in that situation, slightly ethical, or as bad as the gangsters you are dealing with.

  • Chambers & Partners tends not to dole out prizes for being shady. But hey, it's journalists giving lawyers a prize - I imagine nobody will take it at face value.

  • I'm not sure that in Russia, like in Saudi and many other places, there is much of a distinction between shady and normal business practice. I doubt it adds up to much but it's funny.

  • There is a distinction. But yes, part of your counsel's job in places like that is to advise you how not to attract unwanted attention and how best to deal with it when you get it.

  • Respected legal information publisher says law firm good at lawyering in tough country. What's wrong with that?

Huh? I don't recall saying anything was wrong with that? I said it was funny. Maybe you don't find it funny, and therefore want to have a moan. I think you'll find that's what the memes thread is for.

  • Okay, that did make me laugh.

My rant was because Twitter is full of people saying 2+2=5 on the basis of that tweet.

  • If this is Trump’s playbook for crisis management, his political opponents should sit back and enjoy the show. Like a dog that returns to his vomit, this president-elect just can’t help himself. Let the follies begin.

    The Guardian are impressed.

  • Yeah, it was beautiful to watch.

  • It's been said already but Russia has won the Cold War in the weirdest way.

  • gotten?
    Have a fucking word mate.

  • edited. bigly.

  • It's a perfectly cromulent word.

  • Doing a search on the whole Peegate thing I came across this Infowars headline:

Peegate: Trump Trolls “Fake News” Mainstream Media Over Yellow Journalism

    http://www.infowars.com/peegate-trump-trolls-fake-news-mainstream-media-over-yellow-journalism/

    lozzles

  • Pun fatigue has already set in. Starting to get a bit pissed off with all these pee jokes constantly streaming out.

  • I, for one, am bursting with excitement to hear Trump's state of the urination speech.

  • Please stop now.
