Hello, carpet fitter come to wood green. Been fucked over by carpet right.
So panic stations, as they have had a major fuck up today and carpets not being fitted.

Sorry @mobe, only just seen this. Got messed around by people not returning phone calls, visiting but not following up with a quote - the usual basically...
Saw a van outside a house alongside a park where I walk the dogs and asked one of the guys for a card, emailed them via their website, got a lovely response (apologising for late reply even though it was within 24 hours), and someone is coming round to take a look on Thursday. Will provide an update.

Can't find the paperwork just now, but I think it's early '70's (it belonged to my father in law).
Took it to an MG specialist about a year ago who got it running. Drove it once to Rochester and thento Guildford. On the way back from Guildford it started to make a terrible noise. Sounded like a washing machine full of loose cutlery. Parked it up and haven't moved it since.
At some point I would like to have it restored, but don't currently have the cash / time. Would be nice to have it running for summer though.

Does it actually drive albeit badly with noise? My mate has used dc dodds in Leytonstone for his volvo amazon and said the guy was good. You'd be better off dropping it off somewhere and just get them to get it running right.

Where abouts are you, as you have mentioned moving...
Maybe I could wander over with a toolkit, multimeter and jumpstarter to see if the noise is serious.
@princeperch maybe not a great idea as that kind of noise could be something serious...
Also might be an idea to ask of the car thread
-
• #236
That's very kind.
I have moved temporarily to Blackheath but the car is parked in Greenwich.
Currently away for a few days. Think I might have it towed to a garage when I get back.

Doing a bathroom renovation near King's Cross (N1) (after pausing our plans to do this right when Truss/war made everything fucking expensive).
Any recommendations for builders?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a roofer in SE London (Brixton/Herne Hill)? Got a leak and need to get an expert to take a look
-
• #243
Bazzer came to me in Penge . https://positiveroofing.co.uk/
He looked over the house I bought , then came back and fitted a Velux.
Then came back to check what we thought was a leak.
Great chap. -

Neil Fox of Fox Contract in SE13 is a great bloke. Honest as they come and kept our knackered roof leak-free for years.

Desperate for an organised plumber in SE, need some radiators replaced before an central system is refilled. I've contacted a few but just get ghosted when asking for a date.
