Honestly, I have a hard time imagining paying that much for a pair of hubs. But who knows, once I get a job in engineering I might find the dough to treat myself.

435 dkk for a new pair of hubs
Buying a pair of chris king hubs, then we can talk about treating yo self..
-
• #309
Oh, that's what I meant. Novatec is just about getting things to work properly. King is defo treat yo self territory.

waiting at a red light

start pedaling out of saddle
chain hops off the rear cog (which was a 13t from a used 8speed cassette)
land on my top tube with feet dragging on ground
ppl say Oohhhh
went home and ordered SS cogThis bike is hella fun to ride. Running slightly higher pressure to pop off curbs and down stairs and shit. Wheelies so easy cuz im practically sitting directly over the rear axle.. Bullmoose is mad comfy. Chill gear ratio 32x13

Ti adventure bike comin together soon!
Superstar has cheap wheels this month (surprise), so now i have these 27,5 wheels ready to go.
Just missing a CK headset in a ridiculous colour, 11s sram trigger, and chainring spacers.
Ano bits with brushed Ti and black parts shud be gud <3

Slowly comin along..
Turns out Sram 11 speed road and mtb isnt compatible like the 10 speed stuff is.
Things left to get it dialed: 11s sram MTB derailleur, brooks c17 black, pink or turquoise CK headset, and sort out the cockpit. Its a little low atm and im all outa steerer, so i think this means a highrise stem..
Whats the go to highrise stem?

Yup it gets the job done.

@Heldring i do like that Klunker bar, but i actually just put something similar on my Nishiki. And no doubt the LD stem is pretty #cool, just cant get myself to do it... I think this bike is having an identity crisis.. The bars determine so much!
Ive ordered a +35 deg stem, so we'll see how that works out. But meanwhile ive realized what setup i don't want. ;)
Seeing as im not nearly as cool as @Hulsroy and cant just weld more steerer on, i figured id try something else..
Drilled the old starnut out and installed a 1-1/8" quill to ahead adapter
Now instead of using a starnut (because it would block the bolt to loosen the adapter), i used an expander (which i had to cut down to get it low enough to avoid huge spacers ontop of stem).
It was at this moment i realized i bought a bike 10 sizes too small.. (and which setup im not that into)
But wait. This got me thinking.. what am i actually going to use this bike for? In other words, #whatbars.
I boiled it down to this is my new bike camping/ dicking around/ multisurface bike. It will ride gravel, asphalt, singletrack, trails, city, and in a fucking playful manner. Therefore, it needs some fucking playful bars.
The perfect candidate:
-10cm rise so i can uninstall the tower of spacers bodge, and be a normal starnut kinda guy again)
-hella sweep for mad comfy hand/wrist positioning while long days in the saddle
-dece width so i can be playful afthis was of course a mini motocross handlebar from an autoparts store..
So what is this bike? i guess its a fast and light mountainbike for touring/bikepacking/klunking/wheelieing/skidding, with 650b tires and a motorcycle cockpit.
