  • That's what the ebay sniper was for! 😂

  • Nap was good though!

  • Ha, at least that then! :D

  • I keep waiting for the "perfect picture" but letting that go now

  • Those stays are stressing me out

  • Me too. They make a bad toe overlap situation an order of magnitude worse. I trimmed the stays in summer and thought I had solved the problem. Then I rejigged the rack configuration and found myself back at square one.

  • The previous set up. The mudguard went from being mounted on the fork to being mounted on the rack.

  • Just joined this group as I've recently 'joined the club'.

I swapped my Surly Oltre for a 2020 CDF which needs some TLC.

Oh, and great content here people

  • A friend is looking at a second hand CDF. What would be a reasonable price for one in decent condition with a Brooks Cambium, Spa Cycles handbuilt wheels (no more info that that), 105 groupset and TRP Spyres? It's on for £1200 I think which seems like an alright deal but not brilliant. Any idea if that's about right?

  • What year would it be? 1200 seems steep to be honest. Do you have a photo?

  • The photos are pretty ropey tbh! I don't know enough about CDFs to identify the year from a photo but it looks like it might be a few years old?

  • It's for a friend who's not a "serious cyclist" but wants something to pootle about on. My feeling is that they can get away with something a bit cheaper, even if it's lower spec.

  • 1200 is steep. It's probably what i spent on mine ( same frame in 54), but had it built up with TRP hylex, grx di2, force cranks, hope hubs + stans rims, a swap to whisky carbon forks, genereally higher spec parts.

  • Good to know, thanks both! I imagine there's some haggling room. Reckon it'd be worth it if the seller would knock a couple of hundred off?

  • personnaly i would only consider for under 800£.
i sold the frameset for 250 here, had bought it here for maybe 350, with the genesis (carbon) forks.
the wheels look decent, they might be hope hubs ?

  • Ah ok! Yeah the wheels do look like they might be Hope.
    I'll suggest continuing the search!

  • I've got a Spa Elan size 54 frameset I'll be moving along if that's of any interest. Basically a cdf with a carbon fork and 44mm headtube. Bought off here recently but have found a replacement

  • Oh that could work! Do you have any photos and a price in mind?

It's this one. Probably will have done a whole 2 rides once I strip it next week so just looking to get back the £300 I paid. Will take more photos next week. Might have some spyres I could throw in for a bit extra, so if you combine that with a discounted 105 group off crc for £315 and some wheels should be under budget

  • I would also agree that around 6-800 would be fair for that bike giving the spec and photos etc.

  • This a very good deal

  • Fairly sure it is 2015, I remember seeing that colour at the London Bike Show that year. Just looked it up, see page 38 of https://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/media/catalogues/genesis/2015_catalogue.pdf

  • Should knock a few hundred off purely for the crimes against my eyes. At what point did they think orange hubs and spacers and brown bar tape were a good idea!

I have (and I’m about to sell) one of these but agree with the price estimates of the others despite the potentially nice wheels and saddle.

  • They're definitely after a full bike unfortunately! Thanks anyway though.

  • Yeah the colours are all pretty wild/grim!
