Toughest one he's ever had to muster though.....

I'm still trying without luck from 2015, apparently there is at least one thing I can't masturbate to.

I couldn't live with myself if I even got a stirring in my loins over her.

I'd actually have to think about cutting it off if I did... or have a full frontal lobotomy

Thing is though, if you're tough enough to bust a nut over Katie you're tough enough for a world with Trump as President.

Jack Monroe's libel trial against Hopkins starts, I think, next Monday.

It'll be interesting to see if she can prove £50k worth of damages. Have there been many instances of 'journalists' sued for libel/defamation for twitter posts?

Edited. So many typos.

Adroit was correcting my typo. I've caused great confusion.

Ah, not difficult on a Tuesday morning, to be fair.

Hopkins tweeted to her half million or so followers and compounded it. A deletion is hardly an apology. Libel damages are, however, always difficult to estimate. The seriousness of the libel, however, will have an impact although the fact that Munroe retweeted it could mitigate it. We will have to wait and see.

'they,' not 'he' or 'she' - non-binary identification, innit ...
-
• #541
I like the idea of linguistic non-binary identification. But for me, 'they' is a third-person plural personal pronoun. It's use as a third-person singular pronoun irks me. I'll get over it, eventually.
The Guardian refers to Jack as her/she, and I'm happy to defer to their usage guidelines.
And Jack has already weighed in on this: “She” is fine, she says. “I’m not transitioning to male. So I don’t feel I need to be referred to as ‘he’. For some people, pronouns are a very important part of how they identify. I completely understand that. For me, I have more of a looser interpretation.”
Fwiw, the initial pronoun misuse was merely a typo, not an instance of gender confusion.
Anyway, I hope Katie Hopkins reads this and her head explodes.

I hope she gets out of the shower and notices that she has got the tingling itch of athlete's foot. Having dried herself she then decides to apply a suitable cream to the digits in question and whilst bending over touches her arse cheek on the hot radiator, or towel rail. In her reflex shock her right knee jerks upwards and smashes under the bathroom sink.

£24k damages

£107 k costs on account, which means payable now. Not the same as total costs, which will be determined by assessment :)
-
• #545
I wonder if Ms Hopkins herself will have to pay the damages and costs, or whether the Mail Online hate-and-self-loathing machine will pay it for her?
-
• #546
I was wondering the same thing. I really hope it will be the former. It's not like it was in one of her columns, or even related to.
-
• #547
sadly i suspect she can afford it.

Hopefully this is the snowflake that starts an avalanche.
I'd love to see her in court for many other things she's said.

I thought Private Eye had a long running complaint about this,
as 'star' columnists are usually deemed external contractors, rather than employees,
so should incur a tax liability if the publisher picks up the bill. This also got an airing during the Leveson Inquiry.

It took the poor wee fucker nearly four hours though.
