Exxxtra Picante is my favourite
You are my chili twin. Love that stuff. It is just so well balanced. The El Yucateco jalapeno stuff is also great and worth just for that green colour.
I can also highly recommend anything from Yellow Bird. Their serrano and habanero sauces are both really nice.

Nice plants!
A few started to produce buds and I'm going with the concensus to remove them and let the plants get bigger(?). Hopefully some truth in that.
Yea, yet as it's mid of May already you might want to let them produce some actual berries soon; it depends a bit on the kind of plant but they do take a lot of weeks to ripen and especially to get hot, so you should not let them start too late if you plan to harvest this year

Nice! Will pick some of those up. Cheers for that.

Thanks, had not considered this, will leave them be!!
Actually took the tops off 2 weeks go and gave them a modest trim back - they've got super bushy now :D

Is it too late to germinate seeds to plant, as I bought 12 scotch bonnet and 12 ghost chili, and was tempted to germinate 3 and grow from there.

You'd probably be ok if it stays this warm & sunny until Sept

Wouldn't get my opes up but do it anyways - worst case scenario is you won't get a whole lot of chillies this year but then you can overwinter the plant and have a headstart next year

Anyone recommend good places to buy fresh chillies and dried chillies online? Looking for some scotch bonnets and some decent dried stuff too. Thanks

Indian/Asian spice suppliers. But don't know of any, as I just go to the shops.
If you desperate for dried, next time I go to hoo hing/loon fung I can whatsapp photos of stuff for you to choose what you want.

Pricked out my seedlings yesterday. If I'm keeping them in a plastic greenhouses would it still be advisable to bring them in overnight?

Most (not all) established chilli plants can survive 5°C nights. In my experience they don't really like it though, above 10° is better.
Freshly pricked seedlings I'd pamper a bit more, bring them inside at night, and gradually let them get used to the colder temps outside (leave outside one night, bring back in the next two or three, one outside again, bring inside one or two nights.. and keep the plastic greenhouse things you have on for the first weeks as well).

Fruit developing in the Polytunnel. I think my random plantings will leave me with plenty of thin green jobbies soon.
I've a few other plants in flower yet to fruit so hoping for some different ones amongst them.
A few other plants have stalled since potting on, not sure how to jump start them to grow & flower... anyone been through this?

Sorry if it’s inappropriate, but anyone wants this?
Since opening I used maybe a table spoon, always kept in the fridge. It’s a shame to throw it away. I thought I’m good with spicy, and usually, I am. Carolina Reaper stuff or Ghost Chilli, no problem, but this thing is fu*king deadly. Contains Oleoresin. It does not taste like the chilli concentrate which to me tastes like chemicals. This stuff is just super powerful.
Give me a couple of £ for the postage and it’s yours.

First time chilli grower here... do you just harvest the fruit as and when they turn red? ‘Apache’ variety if that makes a difference.
-
• #923
I pick them when they pinch off easily without tearing the plant etc.
-
• #924
You can stick them in a brown bag with a banana to ripen them if you pick them before they do so

Cheers, think they need a bit longer. And some sunshine this month would be nice.

I would go for these:
-"Pain" hot sauce, again pretty hot but still good as a condiment.
-El Yucateco mexican hot sauces are excellent, range of styles and spice levels but really good quality. The Chipotle one is less hot but super delicious. the Exxxtra Picante is my favourite, great on burritos etc.
-Melindas also do a range of styles and spice levels special mention for the ghost pepper variant.
