Blairs Ultra Death sauce is my go to daily sauce so my tolerance is quite high.
Happily confirm the the Reaper's Blade packs quite a punch. Full on lip tingle lasting half an hour however not in an uncomfortable way if that makes sense. 10/10.

Do you mean if i get fruits all year around?

Technically it is of course possible, but i prefer cutting them down and letting them sit in a bright window over the winter months.

On the picture you can hint a few flowers coming even still, but normally they just falling off before producing any fruit. Most likely due to lack of light and low temperatures.

They are perennial, basically, some just go 2-3-4 years though.
There are two approaches as far as I know - keep them inside (in the warmth) and see how they handle the little light they get during the winter wonths, or put them in a sleep / hibernating mode by putting them in a cold-ish (but definitely above 10°C) stairway for example. The latter did work for me a few times but watering is quite tricky I have found (too little they die, too much they die).
In general chilies don't handle quick changes in light and temperature very well. This year most of mine died when the harsh autumn came here in Berlin. At the moment I have just one plant left, sitting right on top of the radiator in the kitchen, it's doing nicely and even has one berry right now 🙂

I’m going to grow chillis next year. I don’t mind a bit of heat but would go flavour over heat as a preference.

Go for it! It's rather easy, and most plants look beautiful 🙂

See if you can get fresh chilies at your local supermarket / organic food store this time of year, try them, and keep seeds of the ones you like (wash off any pulp that my be sticking to them, pat them dry with kitchen paper, and store in a dry place until next year).
I've also sent seeds to some forum members in the past but since Brexit the postage has gone way up (I'm not in the UK), maybe some people in this thread are also willing to share / swap..

Made a batch of lemon drop jam for a gift and myself. Threw in some whole demon reds for good measure. Modified this super simple recipe (tend to half it but double the chillis).

Made some Harissa with the leftovers of this years batch. Tastes good but could do with being chunkier.

It builds if you add enough, very tasty. Will test on unsuspecting family members soon.

Here's a picture of the only plant of mine that didn't die in the harsh fall last year; didn't cut it down too much and actually kept it near the window (also right on the radiator that's on 2/5) - in the past my chilies couldn't handle the dry warmth, but apparently this one can, even produced one berry..

Also bought these at a local african supermarket; not completely sure what they are but usually the chilies from that store are quite mean, so will use with caution..

Was thinking about keeping some seeds and planting them - which reminded me it's almost February, so a good time to think about this year's growing season.. haven't planned / ordered anything yet, how about you guys?

Was gifted some reapers and chocolate habaneros last year. Plan to get the seeds in pots shortly though I'm not expecting much this year.

I had a beautiful scotch bonnet that over wintered for about 5 years till kids arrived, that took 300 days from germination to fruit. I've not grown a chilli plant since.
I'm still working through the last jar of chilli oil from that as family meals are less spicy than they used to be. Need a fresh batch so time to germinate.

First batch of seeds went into the propagator this afternoon.
