  • If you don't mind me asking, how much did the frame cost from orlowski? Also what tubing spec did you go for?

  • Think I was around 800 quid. That included paining the frame & fork plus shipping.

Tubing is Columbus Zona with a 44mm headtube

  • Now that ain't bad is it!! Zona a good enough tubing for a road bike? Stiff n light wise?

  • It's light (for steel!) and a joy to ride, it's fine for a road bike.

@negaatio is the man to ask as he has the same tubing and has done way more miles on his, than I've done on my one.

  • @blacklisted Do you know the diameter of your downtube? Is it 35mm or 38mm? If you're not sure, would you be so kind to measure it? It looks pretty proportionate with the OS 44mm HT.

  • A couple here

    SSCX one inspired by Eingang's

And a geared version that has only recently arrived (even happier with this one than the first)

  • I'm pretty sure its 38mm. I vaguely remember asking Jacek for that.

I'll double check later when I'm home

  • That's a couple of very nice bikes! Love the paint on the SSCX

    Whats the tubing spec?

  • Such a thing of purpose and beauty!

came here to post my bike but someone beat me to it.. =D

    the album

  • Ha! Sorry for stealing your thunder. The bike was so awesome I had to post it :-D

  • Both are Deda Zero Uno.

The geared one was supposed to be the sulphur yellow used on the UKIP coloured one but despite using the same RAL code it turned out a much milder hue. I don't really mind, just one of the quirky joys of custom.

  • thx 🙂

  • Jacek is cooking me up something tasty, heavily inspired by Negaatio's Orlo

  • what can that do that a genesis cant? i.e. why custom? (genuine question)

  • Sliding dropouts, slightly more road based geo (I hate how CX bikes handle on road), options to choose all the cable routing and sizing. Its also an Orlo so will be kinda matchy matchy with my Rych. I'd have gone with Rych but not heard good things about his frames lately.

Which genesis are you talking about? With this I got to spec oversized zona (38mm DT), 44mm headtube and the fork I wanted, Columbus Mud Disc

  • I also had money to spare so why not go custom...

  • Jacek also just confirmed I can use 42mm 700c or 2inch 650b, very excited

  • thats the best reason

  • looks like that can fit a lot larger than 42mm. Ive had 47mm smart sam on the rear of mine easily

  • currently 40mm on 30mm rims with around a centimiter mud space @ chain stays

  • what did you ask for when you ordered? extra mud clearance cant hurt

  • I think I asked for 45mm

FF's orlo pictured above has the same chainstay design

  • Painted and on its way to me soon. Cant wait

  • pretty!

  • That looks amazing!! Jealous.
