I love this camera and it’s my favourite mirrorless DSLR, selling simply because I want to use the smaller Ricoh for hiking and cycling.
Panasonic LUMIX S5, barely used.
Come with Sigma 45mm F2.8 that make for excellent all round lens, with hoy filter too.
Come with the original 20-60mm lens too, Hoy filter as well.
Got a nice easily changeable camera strap.
I’m asking £750, the catch is that I can’t use wireless as the system kept asking me to turn on and off again, but that’s it, wired connection is fine and system is up to date, extremely well priced considering the cost of both lens.
No charger, charge directly via USB-C

Anywhere I could pick up a 62 mm UV filter in the Dalston area today? Would like to avoid trekking all the way to Wex.

Thinking of giving photography a go and found a camera I like on eBay, but the shutter count is 0, despite it being an older model. It does look immaculate, and has all the original packaging, so it could genuinely have never been used, but seems a little too good to be true.
Is this something to worry about or be suspicious of?

Could have been used on the electronic shutter which wouldn’t contribute to the shutter count

How are you folks storing multiple lenses? Peli cases are nice but pricey, I see there are some soft shell alternatives.

I ended up grabbing (luckily it turns out) an X-E4 and first-party M-X adaptor on a Spanish second hand app. Currently works well with my existing glass, and the manual-focus aids are nice.
How do folks rate the Fuji 18-55 2.8/4? Comparing it with the Sigma equivalent for a leave-it-on-lens for when I'm chasing the young 'un around and need autofocus.

Looks lovely!
I’ve never gone zoom on Fuji - the 18-55 is supposed to be a great kit lens especially if you get it for less than RRP, but the 15-45 might be a better fit size-wise? Not as fast a lens but a lot more portable for kid-chasing purposes. AFAIK the image quality is decent, but haven’t actually tried either in the flesh. -

Just in a lowepro backpack
That’s what I’m also currently doing, albeit with a smallish flipside 300 but I’ve got some big’uns incoming and it’s annoying to turf everything out if I actually want to use it as a back pack.

Any recommendations for slide digitisers?

Used Peli-style cases (and new foam) are fine. I use one for lights, modifiers and speed lights.
They’re easy to pack into trains/planes/automobiles but pretty terrible on a bike.

If it's just to get slides into digital files, and you aren't precious about the "best quality ever", then those tubes which fit onto a camera with a slot for the slide at the other end, are quickest and easiest. Next step up is a flatbed scanner with a slide holder - this will seriously increase your work time and make you wish you never started.
Professional photographers may have a different opinion, but they don't mind spending 10 minutes scanning one 35mm slide.

Thanks, this is useful stuff. It's for my in-laws and they have a DSLR so that sounds like the way forward.

I like Peak design stuff (looks cool, nice design touches), but Think Tank are the best, incredibly hard wearing.
Don’t bother with lowepro, they don’t last.
Also look out for second hand bags. Plenty of bargains out there.

Any suggestions for a decent digital compact? Ideally small enough to chuck in a frame/bum bag. I've not bought any new photography gear in probably a decade so no idea where to start! I'd probably rather go second hand. Not sure on budget, what's the least I need to spend to get something decent with some manual controls? If anyone has anything they want to sell me or trade/PX for a Nikon D7000 with a 50mm lens let me know as well.

Cheers, I hadn’t heard of Think Tank so that’s a new eBay saved search.
My Lowepro was secondhand and does the job ok, but I’m definitely eyeing upgrades and the modular Peak Design ‘camera cubes’ certainly look appealing. I have one of their straps though and I’m always paranoid I’m going to scratch my screen with the slightly pointless but massive, metal adjusters. -

Yeah I'll be honest I don't like their straps! The quick release bits are great, so I bought the anchors for them and just added them to my current straps (domke).

Fujifilm X-T1 still good in today's day and age for just stills work? What's a fair price for a good working order one? And recommendations for 3rd party 35/50mm equiv lens?
-
• #3649
I would stick with the Fuji offering as they are good and affordable if you opt for the F2 version.
I never had the XT1, only the XT2 which I loved. You can probably pick up the latter for approx 300 and you get a great camera in my opinion.

My Macbook Pro has died, time to look at replacement options in terms of photo editing.
How do people like the Ipod (Pro) for editing vs a laptop / Macbook?
