I have some of that and already using it, this is just day dreaming.
Fuji XT-20, 18mm f/2, might replace this with Ricoh GR III.
M6 and M3 and 21, 28, 50mm.I enjoy using M3 with 21 the most with a Ricoh finder and 50mm in the bag.

£4250.
Expensive even if you say it fast.

Was the first Q cheaper? It finally has weather sealing though. Something I really don't want to miss anymore.

Ha! Was just coming here to post this to you :)
Rapha etc

I think I am gonna sell the XT-20 and get Ricoh GRIII.
There is always this argument in the back of my head that will a fixed 28mm lens camera will be that better than the iPhone XS?!
I generally justify it with use case.
My iPhone is a glorified scanner for receipts these days.
Also missed out on mint RX1RII for £1800 on ebay :(

Let us know how you get on with the Ricoh. I might watch some youtube videos of them to get a feel of operation etc.
I love two things about my first gen Pixel:
- 'Night Sight' - don't really know how the processing works but it takes it from a fairly weak low light camera to something very very impressive. Tons of clean but not overly processed looking detail in even really tricky shots.
- PhotoScan - take 5 photos, merges, blah. I have an IFTTT which saves all my receipts into a folder on the work google drive. Super handy.
...Leica Q2 though...
Still keeping an eye out for the updated Sony...

'Night Sight'
This is a huge thing that the camera brands need to acknowledge.
Tech bros have redefined and surpassed the needs of the user with computational photography. The big players in camera world are still fighting over megapixels and the best lens.
Its sad that the real innovation in camera died when film cameras died.
That again makes me think, I will just stick with what I have. (lols)
The most enjoyable cameras I have are the M3 and Mamiya 7.

Is night sight no longer on the pixel cameras?

XT-20 let me know when you want to shift those sweet, sweet lenses.

I keep seeing rumors of the xpro 3 this year, that may be worth keeping an eye out for too.

oh and in that regard Zeiss ZX1 looks most innovative

Anyone else have a problem with their Fuji where the viewfinder screen jams? My X100F is having problems... Fuji want £165 for a service...

I need the hive mind. I have an old nikon d50 which has seen better days and is just plain old. Looking to upgrade as we took some pictures recently and they were worse than the ones we took with our smartphones.
I've been looking into a new camera and found the fujifilm x-t20 ticking a lot of boxes. I'm only worried that it's a bit too much pro for me. I'll look through this thread but can find a x-t20 with 18-55mm lens for around a thousand euros which is really my top budget. Will be used for travel pictures, shooting some basic video, baby pictures, dog pictures, ... Hoping if I can get this upgrade it'll also be good to shoot some decent pictures of minime if/when he starts doing sports. The more compact.
Sorry for noob questions.

Well, the first solution is to just stick to phones... They really are great these days and a lot of them will even shoot RAW (iPhone 6s and newer, quite a few android phones).
Main benefit being you always have it on you.
If you want (real) shallow depth of field or do a lot in post then bigger sensors start mattering.
Something like the XT20 is great and you can probably find one for under €1k now that it’s been superseded. The “kit lens” is really great, as is the whole ecosystem. Fuji lenses are pricey, though, so be warned 😁

Not everyone always has their phone with them, actually.

So I whacked my M6 TTL on a rock and now the light meter doesn’t seem to work :( only external damage is a couple of tiny dings on the back to the right of the viewfinder. Can anyone recommend a good repair shop ideally London but could be further afield? Or should I just hand it over to Leica—will they even look at the analogue stuff these days?
-
• #1843
Aperture. If they have parts.
The nice thing about these cameras is they are widely repaired still. AFAIK Leica will repair them too.

I bought my Olympus Mju for about £40 ages ago while they were still cheapish. It was NOS complete in box etc. Like an idiot I have used and abused it, so I can't now sell it for £400 on ebay, but it's taken some lovely photos along the way.
I think if I keep taking the Mju on bike trips it's not gonna last too much longer. What can I replace it with that isn't gonna cost over £100? 35mm, compact, can take beautiful photos on full auto and survive a bit of abuse? Perhaps an Olympus XA?

Or a Nikon L35 AF?

• #1847
Red Dot Cameras repaired my Leicas when I owned a couple a few years back. Their repair guy was excellent.
-
• #1848
XA2? XA if I'm not mistaken is a rangefinder.
I loved my XA2 and kinda gutted I've sold it now.
-
• #1849
Malcolm Taylor is THE guy for leicas. 01568 770542
Alternatively there is CRR, Luton - 07790 627778
Red Dot are too expensive.
Aperture have very long lead times and are now quite expensive.
Don't go to anywhere else. -

Ah yeah XA2 is the one I mean. Cheers. I'll get ebaying
why would you not buy a Ricoh GR II, a Leica M6 and 35mm summicron, and 100 rolls of film
