This line is quite good:
Let’s be honest, if we had an effective electoral law leading
Brexiteers would now be in jail -

I suppose lies, damn lies, and surveys and the old saying about the lamppost and the dog comes to mind.
But all this doesn't support a groundswell of "another deal" or "can the thing protest..."
I should buy some bath bombs as a sign of support :)
I'm sooooooooooooooooo tired of all this, should I be pleased cos I work (EU national) so I'll be fine? What about pensioners, people with illnesses, suddenly they are really third class citizens.

More on this "29% of remainers want EU people to leave..." basically a total misrepresentation of a how "positive (approval 50% and more) VS negative (50% and less) do you feel by X graph...
It also shows that with "controls" and fewer EU immigrants, the "leavers" are sorta happy too...which again begs the question of WHY Cameron wasn't honest and why the gov didn't implement controls*
*resistance against ID cards was one factor

Yes, I've read quite a bit of commentary about the dubious interpretation of the stats.

I have to say I can't really imagine that either Daytrip or Rowntrees-Toff would play very well with the electorate.

It occurred to me afterwards that everyone putting themselves in the shooting line since Call Me Dave is going down fast in the Tory party. No reason that these 2 would ride this out any better.

The most astonishing thing about all this is that Jake R-M is only 48.

The answer depends on the question you ask, eh :/

Especially with all the borderline xenophobia May introduced during her time in the Home Office...
Yes, let's make it super hard for the UK people to bring in foreign spouses and charge £980 to get 3rd country citizens/EU citizens that weren't here 5 years before the birth to register kids as UK citizens.
National supremacy through the back door.

This - it's about a deportation - is beyond belief. Can you imagine being in that situation?
-
• #9170
I can...the home office are inept idiots. I've read too many stories...
You can imagine the worries among the EU nationals that don't have the finances to hire an immigration lawyer :(
-
• #9171
The government seems to water down their stance on the EJC a little to "indirect jurisdiction" which may open the door to enduring rights for EU nationals in the UK (and vice versa the EU already offered these to UK in EU...but it need to be mutual)

As in the tin. The CSI insurance has been rumbling for ages. The UK could accept the NHS, which covers everyone as comprehensive sickness insurance, but chooses not to.
At which point is is not alufoilhattery to assume the minister that deals with immigration is intentionally pursuing xenophobic policy?
Making it hard for UK nationals to bring foreign spouses in, USA nationals needing to earn 35K after a few years, charging £938 to register a child as British...the list goes on.

On the subject of Brexit Twitter, there is a Twitter account linked to the mobile phone number of a UKIP NI councillor who has been tweeting non stop (but only during Moscow office hours) pro-UKIP Brexit Syria and Trump etc. stuff and said councillor gets really evasive when asked why.
Account is also at the heart of a network of thousands of accounts tweeting stuff all with usernames ending in random 8 digit numbers.

Interesting. Admittedly, I just looked quickly at the pictures, but it has to be said that there may end up being a world of difference between the median position of Remain and Leave voters, and what those on the other side of the negotiating table (perfectly acceptably) allow the deal to be. (Perhaps the article makes that point.)
