  • This thread is interesting (to me) in that it shows just how intolerant the PC community are of other people's views - it's like watching the rise of a new Fascism.

  • oh do fuck off.

seriously, don't expect anyone to take your opinions remotely seriously if you're going to flop intellectually vapid shit like 'the PC community' onto my fucking screen.

  • David Davies says UK could pay EU for single market access. Presumably this will cost about £350m per week...

    http://news.sky.com/story/uk-could-pay-eu-for-single-market-access-after-brexit-10678735

  • Can you define "intolerance?"

    I would define "intolerance" as:

    Religion is written into laws
So, LGBT people cannot get married (NI)
I cannot have an abortion when raped or when I just can't take care of a kid (pretty normal, yeah? life happens) (NI)

Not "I don't agree with your reasoning"

Fascism is "is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism that came to prominence in early 20th-cent" so what that has to do with a thread where people have often anti-nationalistic* views is a little lost on me.

*nationalism defined as the excluding version Brexit is peddling, not the SNP version

  • This post is interesting (to me) in that it shows just how easy is it to say something so divisive, and so empty of substance.

I mean - 'PC community' - Who or what is that? 'Show just how intolerant' - where, when, how? 'Other people's views' - who? where? 'a new Fascism' - by what definition of fascism - are we co-opting words to mean whatever we want now?

  • PC community?

    People who like PC Music

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MQUleX1PeA

    People on personal computers?

  • Pedal Cyclists

    FFS some people.

  • Post truth, your fascist if your anti fascist.

  • I thought he was talking about Gamergate?

  • Your an fascist.

  • Today I learned being intolerant of people who are racist/misogynistic/bigoted is apparently as bad as being racist/misogynistic/bigoted.

In other news, people who feel strongly about not being murdered by a murdered are now just as bad as murderers.

  • That is correct, because technically, murderers are an oppressed minority.

  • And statistically likely to be indigenous

  • You learn something new every day.

And today I learned yer a complete bastard.

  • he did well to control himself this time, usually when people try this line of inductive reasoning they throw in a derogatory name (libtard, loony lefty, remoaner) to highlight just how nice they are themselves.

  • 'PC community' - Who or what is that?

  • Common decency is the 'new fascism.'

    Who is this handpumper?

  • a owl?

  • LFGSS forum standards policing in progress, may I propose we ask for a reply before calling names?

Oh wait, what forum was I on again...sorry :P

  • but I think part of the problem is the sheer lack of education on politics, how to talk to others and how to adult and not throw a tantrum. I found out in my 30s (!) to be aware that humans are wired to be tribal, go into panic mode for any threat (which politicans exploit) and every discussion is seen as a fight by your brain.

    Quoted for posterity.

  • Who is this handpumper?

    Wait - Is it @Jeez?

  • finally! i need some pro estate agenting tips.
