This a good article, by Daniel Korski deputy director of the policy unit in David Cameron’s government, of the Brexit referendum - http://www.politico.eu/article/why-we-lost-the-brexit-vote-former-uk-prime-minister-david-cameron/

Is it in the Rhubarb Triangle?
Not anymore but in the 50's when the houses were built it's a distinct possibility.
The Rhubarb Triangle is a 9-square-mile (23 km2) triangle in West Yorkshire, England between Wakefield, Morley and Rothwell famous for producing early forced rhubarb. It includes Kirkhamgate, East Ardsley, Stanley, Lofthouse and Carlton.[1] The Rhubarb Triangle was originally much bigger, covering an area between Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield.[2] From the first decade of the 20th century to 1939 the rhubarb industry expanded and at its peak covered an area of about 30 square miles (78 km2).[3]

Question Tim last night: Polish woman gets booed for suggesting she doesn't feel welcome in the UK.
not that any of this is about me, but i'm starting to realise that at this rate, my entire life will have been shaped by racists and those that pander to them.

+1 growing up during apartheid when my grandfather was an anti apartheid activist wasn't easy for them. My dad tried to set up a business which was next to impossible. The irony is that after south Africa we moved to England which right now looks less tolerant than anywhere in the world.

the only noticeable difference is the lack of legislation that enforces 'otherness', and that doesn't seem too far away either. white people are for the most part, fucking awful.

I am not sure if any of the xenophobic leave voters will listen to any harsh criticism of non other leaver voters TBH.
Should we perhaps listen more to make a point?
In the CSB category, I've a leave voter on my FB. He lives in an English harbor town and they have problems, he says, with theft, people arriving on lorries and disappearing, criminality etc. that wasn't there 20 years ago.
So he's blaming immigration/the EU. I would blame lack of policing etc.Shouting RACIST is the easy way, but will it ever change minds?
Bear in mind the unregistered immigrants that DO come in will also be screwed by criminal gangs...the locals are not happy because of criminality, the migrants also get done. It's a lose-lose situation. For the Tories immigrants are of course not people... and they want a small government, I see no solution there for either.
In other news, the leave voter at my office was a bit surprised when I told him about the possible taking of rights of EU nationals. He did not see any logic to it (but you work, you have a son here...)
I think many people wanted package A of leaver (he said he's glad to leave the corrupt EU) but have not thought about if they may empower package B (see also left exit)

You can't think of anywhere "less tolerant" than England?

I've been back twice since the referendum and the casual racism that some friends get dealt with since then is beyond a joke. It's like suddenly it's acceptable the be xenophobic. Fuck that.

There was a link, I think on here, on a study on the Bitish media and racism or similar. Has anyone got a link, I can't think of the specific terms to search.
