  • It's a huge gamble with the UK in a weak position once it initiates article 50. Two years is very short.

So why would you get a good deal? You are with your back against the wall.

  • A dead cat that doesn't do the UK any favours attracting the type of foreigners they want...

  • All foreigners are attracted by dead cats, they eat them, preferably innocent little kittens that they've strangled.

  • We are not allowed the Queen's swans...so stray cats it is ;)

  • Both those theories have been fairly roundly debunked already though.

  • But they've only been debunked by experts, and what do they know?

  • How did we get here :/

(Kind of rhetorical. But ten years ago I'd never have imagined that "post-truth society" would look likely to be our defining reputation, and it's in competition with worse things to go down in history as...)

  • How did we get here :/

    The Internet.

  • It's Simon Heffer, he's been beyond satire for a long time.

    Although easily confused wth Clive:

The extreme reaction to Mr Bigley's murder is fed by the fact that he was a Liverpudlian. Liverpool is a handsome city with a tribal sense of community. ... An excessive predilection for welfarism have created a peculiar, and deeply unattractive, psyche among many Liverpudlians. They see themselves whenever possible as victims, and resent their victim status; yet at the same time they wallow in it.

  • I don't think Rudd was dead-catting but rather triangulating. They're trying to gauge just how xenophobic we are. Fortunately, not quite that xenophobic. But it's scary they're willing to test that kind of stuff out just to see if the public wants it.

  • Like May she was pro-remain and like May she is trying to establish her credentials with the looney, semi-looney and potentially-looney wings of the party.
She was also married to A A Gill so she's not had it easy in life.

  • She was also married to A A Gill

Possibly better than being married to Ted Hughes?

  • j'accuse!

  • Oh sorry I thought you meant AA Milne

  • That doesn't mean that people don't believe them though.

  • ...the suspense is killing me... how did they vote?

  • in her defence, the weather was exceptionally great yesterday.

  • You were in breaston Derbyshire too? Fuck. Should have said hello.

  • Imagine having to cope with that teddy bear bullshit all day long.

  • fuck no, if I leave M25 they might burn me as I havent declared to my employer that I am foreign yet.

  • My parent's pensions are in pounds, they left the UK when the euro was at its weakest... They moan about it a lot... They're still doing OK tho', their pension is still worth more than the average Spanish wage where they are... If you earn €1k per month you're doing pretty well over there...

  • The European Commission Against Racism and Intolerance report on post Brexit racism has been published.

It has quite a bit to say about our media so, unsurprisingly, it's being ignored.

It's also worth noting that homophobic attacks have also risen by 147% since the referendum.

  • You send your prisoners there, they all come back and now you're trying to copy them? Tut Tut Britain, tut.
