Hah!

One was put into a deportation center, had to go to court to get out. That's against legal guidance.
Typical home office: promise a, do b if they can get away with it / are incompetent.

Er, and the government lie again?!

I saw a headline this morning, looks from this article like it's not even new arrangements 🙄
I see here bring equipment may not be included that's a big headache as well, cannot just load a lorry and go anymore.

When I saw the headline, my thought was “does this include road crew getting visas?”

Targeted ads to terrify people:
-
• #30460
Once they had your data, they'd use your age, address and social media history to target you directly. Most ads were interactive, and every click you made gave them more information. If you posted lots about animals, for instance, they'd target you with ads and lies like these
In fact, even if your data showed that you weren't interested in politics, and just liked to relax in your armchair with a cup of tea, vote.Leave and Aggregate AIQ would still find a way to get to you!

That's the most patriotic cup of tea I've ever seen. The thought of those EU scum banning it makes me literally shake.

Probably made with shit London water.

That works though- all the Brexists I’ve spoken with apart from Dov absolutely hate London, everyone and everything in it.

Interesting piece in the FT today on the "where are all the HGV drivers?" issue.

I seen that - I honestly thought drivers earned a lot more, perhaps they did back in the day of 24hr proplus fuelled shifts & falsified tachygraph readings...
Not to worry, i hear there's a plan to call in army reservists to drive the trucks... never mind that those army reservists are currently already driving trucks as their day job of course.

I thought it was interesting that in countries such as the Netherlands where drivers have a Union the wages have stayed high enough to attract a steady influx of new drivers, whereas our "Unions are deadly socialist parasites" approach has seen us drive wages down to the point where we relied heavily upon Eastern European drivers, with very few younger GB citizens entering the trade - and then told all the Eastern European drivers to fuck off.

I honestly thought drivers earned a lot more.
Me too, I learnt that their condition is very poor especially with lacklustre facilities for them in the UK, and now the government want to extend the legal limit to how long they can drive without a proper breaks…

…which is something we choose to do, silver lining (hopefully) is that it force the English government to raise wages and standard to encourages people to join profession they don’t normally want to do.

Of course it won't. The view from the Right is that if you starve people for long enough they'll do anything.

Brexit already seeing wage rises for the less glamorous occupations. I wonder why the deplorables voted to leave a neo liberal trade organisation?
Hey, Ireland over here did not miss it, thank you very much! ;)
